“Wedding venue..perfect!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

If you like a lovely old building, with history, this is for you. Don't expect clean lines, perfect decor, and nothing out of place as this is not what they are about. This is the perfect place for a wedding, venue superb and has its own Wren's cathedral opposite, 200yds! A beautiful place to get married. Hotel was clean, accommodating, lovely staff, great food, can't say enough about it. It has everything. Enjoy!

Excellent stay, Weekend break away from it all. Is situated on lovely grounds and very quiet picturesque landscape. Makes for perfect Wedding Venue. Close to some very nice restaurants.

Highly recommended

What a disappointment. This place looked pretty on the website, and indeed the outside is attractive. The rooms are, however, horrible; cramped, shabby and evil-smelling because of the ancient, very dirty carpets. The beds are small and uncomfortable, and badly and cheaply equipped. At £100 a night it's a disgrace. I wish we had had the courage to walk out.

On top of this, we were told on arrival that the restaurant was closed for a private function. This was initially annoying but on reflection probably a blessing in disguise, as the food might have been as dreadful as the rooms. We drove into Warwick instead and had an excellent Italian meal there instead.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Wroxall. I apologise that your experience was not everything you hoped it would be.
Unfortunately I am unable to locate the room in which you stayed or relate to your description, however had Reception or the Duty Manager been made aware of any room issues at the time, they would have done their best to find an alternative for you. It is with surprise that we read your comments regarding the nature of room and beds being small and uncomfortable. All our rooms have top quality beds and other than just one single, they have at least a double bed, with many enjoying King size and above, and we normally receive praise on their level of comfort.
When the main restaurant is closed for a private function an alternative restaurant is made available in the hotel for other guests staying at the Estate. Our Reservations team also make guests aware on booking that events are taking place, please accept my apologies that on this occasion it appears this did not happen.

We were invited to a wedding at the Wroxall estate and were invited to stay over. Of course I read the reviews - some of which I could not concur with.
Wroxall provided a splendid venue which appeared very organised and the staff were not fazed by a thunderbolt which knocked out the wifi, telephones and other amenities.
The room we were in was clean and decorated well in keeping with the house. The bathroom was clean, though there was no shampoo or soap in the room. The breakfast was well presented and plentiful.
All in all an excellent venue for a wedding or break.

Me and my wife had our wedding here, a medieval one at that! All the staff and co ordinators were great and really went out of their way to satisfy us for our day, letting us have a horse and falconry! Food was amazing, and just under £8000 for venue, church, food, the lot.
Would recommend to anyone!

I recently stayed at Wroxall Abbey Estate with my husband who had surprised me with this delightful mid week break away. We were definitely not disappointed and made full use of the lovely swimming pool and spa facilities whilst we were there. My husband, being the more energetic of the two of us, loved the gym whilst I relaxed in the Jacuzzi. Set in wonderful grounds, although you are close to towns such as Warwick, Stratford, Leamington and Birmingham, you felt as if you had been transported to a different world. The staff were charming and nothing was too much for them in order to make our anniversary a memorable experience. The food in the restaurant was lovely and I am sure I gained a few pounds in weight during my stay! All in all, we had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning in the future.

Chose Wroxhall Abbey as a last resort as all the normal travellers hotels were ful on my way through to the south coast.
What a superb place to stay. On arrival you enter the drive way to see this imposing building in well kept grounds. The staff were very courteous and pleasant and could not be more helpful.
Dining was a superb experience in a ornate dinning room the food was excellent and very reasonable priced with excellent service.
The room was spacious with an enormous bed although the decor was a little tired but acceptable. We didn't use the spa facilities as it was just an overnight stayed, cannot wait to go back for a longer stay .

Room Tip: Book it as soon as you can.
