Description: The Gateway cafe is a very important part of the life of Castle Hill Baptist Church. Apart from selling a wide range of fabulous, fairly traded coffee, tea and hot chocolate, we also provide a whole range of homemade cakes and soups along with other lunchtime treats. Primarily the cafe exists to provide a Gateway to peace in the often frantic world we live in.

“Unexpected Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

We came across this lovely Cafe on our way from the Warwick train station to Warwick Castle. The menu is very limited but delightful. An eclectic array of soups, sandwiches, and pastries. A perfect place for lunch before or after visiting the castle. Prices were very reasonable and the staff was outstanding. I understand that most are volunteers from the adjoining church. They certainly present a welcoming environment.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

We called in to Warwick on our travels and after parking we were hungry and thirsty.
the Gateway cafe was the first cafe we saw.
The food was lovely, we had a toastie. |t was clean and the staff friendly.
We are glad we found it.

“Fabulous little place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

We visited this café on Friday evening after a disastrous meal somewhere else (see The Raj) so we were not in the best frame of mind as we walked past. We were so pleasantly welcomed as we walked in we quickly forgot our awful meal and enjoyed the very pleasant atmosphere here. There was a quiz which was free to take part in and good fun. A very friendly gentleman came to talk to us and we were regaled with tales of his younger life - he was an absolute pleasure to talk to. There was live music - a talented chap with a guitar. We only had a drink this time but if we visit again we shall certainly have one of their puds.

“Not a friendly feeling”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

I have been into the Gateway Cafe twice recently as I live in the Warwick area. Both times the service has been prompt, however there wasn't any warmth or welcome. On both occasions it felt like I was intruding. I have been to other Church run cafes in other towns which have felt very inclusive. I won't be going back to the Gateway as I am sure there are other cafes in the area which are more welcoming.

Thank you for your feedback on your visit to the cafe. As a result we will be endeavouring to improve the atmosphere we create as we're shocked that you felt unwelcomed in our cafe as this is the opposite of what we're going for. It deeply saddens us that you had this experience and in an attempt to make it up to you please feel free to drop in for a free drink next time you are in the area.
