“Really comfortable and welcoming B&B near Stratford on Avon”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

I found this very friendly B&B during the summer of 2010, having just joined a local company, whilst looking for a place to stay one or two nights a week. I have been a regular guest since then which is evidence of what a nice place it is. In that time I have stayed in all three of the rooms and both of the suites, and I can confirm that they are all very comfortable and well equipped. The farm itself is near the church at the end of the village which means that it is nice and quiet, ensuring a peaceful nights’ sleep. There is also plenty of parking available right outside the front door and some great views over this part of Warwickshire. Sue is a great hostess and I have learned to enjoy her cooked breakfasts, as well as a regular update on the farm and the horses. I have found that the Antelope Inn in the village, which is about 5 minutes walk away from the B&B, is a pretty good local pub with tasty food and a good range of bitter. The website and Sue’s mastery of email also makes booking very easy. I would strongly recommend Church Hill Farm B&B and I’m planning to continue to use it on a regular weekly basis.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night. It's a beautiful house and the room was really big with a lovely roll-top bath. We felt really welcome and were offered tea and cake when we arrived. Really convenient for Leamington Spa/Warwick but far enough out into the countryside to satisfy us Londoners who were desperate to get out of the city!
Only negative was that my boyfriend is very against fox hunting (as am I) and there was a lot of fox-hunting memorabilia all over the house ranging from prints to hunting horns...Slightly offputting but didn't spoil out break!

Room Tip: The room with the roll top bath has lovely views and of course the bath is fantastic!

We booked last minute for my boyfriends birthday and I'm glad we did. This is a perfect place for a relaxing break. The accommodation is immaculate and very comfortable. We had a double room with a large en-suite with a roll top bath and shower. Sue is very welcoming and cooks a fabulous breakfast in the mornings. We had a wonderful time, thank you.

Not your usual customer. I stayed at Church Hill Farm for 3 nights with 8 of my student friends whilst on an industrial project. We were made incredibly welcome by Sue who was fantastic. Breakfast was a quality English spead with a selection of cereal, toast, yogurt and fruit. The self contained, 4 bed, self catering building was homely, spotless with all the antique touches and modern luxuries. The other rooms in the main farm house were just picturesque English farm house perfection.
Brilliant

We stayed at the Churchhill Farms B&B for one night

Pros
(i) beautiful suite - very clean, high on amenities, extremely comfortable.
(ii) excellent English breakfast - homemade and tasty and included in price.
(iii) service - the owner, Sue, was very nice and accommodating. however, I felt she was nicer to her more frequent guests and dismissed us as one time guests.

Cons
(i) Location - beautiful little English village of Lighthorne close to the M40. However, only one pub in town and nothing else within walking distance. we drove to dinner in a neighboring village (6 miles away) and the country roads were very dark. the B&B is at the end of a small lane and there are few street signs that would point the way.
(ii) Value - seemed on the high end for English country B&Bs based on our experience.

Church Hill Farm offers the advantage of being within easy reach of several main centres including Stratford-Upon-Avon and Warwick while at the same time being set in a delightful village near the Fosse Way.The farm has a long history and its land includes many footpaths which are ideal for a country walk or an early morning run! The views from the house together with the wildlife in and around the fish ponds are an added bonus.Susan made us feel extremely welcome, our room was spacious and very comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. We have no hesitation in recommending this as a holiday destination or as a place to stay on a business trip.
