Description: The Anchor Inn is a pub with a restaurant area serving traditional pub food and a specials board and also stocking local ales/beers. It has an outside beer garden in the summer & warm & cosy wood burning stoves in the winter. Great location just off the M40, the pub is popular with locals and visitors to the area being centrally located. With three hotels situated closely, its a perfect stop off for business people stopping over.

Visited here following reading some other reviews. We went on a sunday and sat in the garden area which was pleasant but not a lot of attention has been paid o the benefit of the customers using this facility. The food was well cooked and presented and really enjoyed the local draught beer available. i would try this again

I visited the Anchor Inn with a party of 8 adults and 6 children. The staff were very busy as its bank holiday Monday so at first we did have to wait a short while for our food orders to be taken. (Understandable though as they were very busy)
The food was well worth the wait though. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was, I have eaten at much pricier places and the food hasn't been anywhere near the standard that we had today. Every meal we ordered was fresh and well presented. The portions sizes were very generous too. Everything was bought out within a few minutes and the staff were lovely, in particular the lady with the blonde hair! The kids all loved her especially as she gave them all lollipops when we were leaving.
Thankyou Anchor Inn, we shall certainly return again!

Pretty little pub in a pretty village. But that's where it stops. First mistake, after waiting quite a long time for drinks the waitress served the two men in our party first and then we had to wait again for the ladies drinks. Food was served promptly, but again not at the same time. The staff didn't seem to really have much training although they were nice enough. I ordered Scampi and chips - well you can't really go wrong with that. It was fine, with the exception of the watercress garnish that should never have been near a plate and was clearly several days past it's best. As for the salad, it was reminiscent of something served in the 1970's. Tasteless tomatoes, no dressing - I love salad but couldn't eat this. One of our party enjoyed the Filled Yorkshire pudding, but no one else was impressed. Won't be going back any time soon
