Description: With the rich surroundings of Birminghams Jewellery Quarter as its backdrop, The Vaults is among the citys most celebrated restaurants. Set below a Victorian building one might expect gloom, but this restaurant is utterly contemporary, comfortable and light. Panton S chairs and seriously arty photography show an eye for design and style while brick arches furnished with sofas provide cosy spaces for romantic cocktails or swapping gossip. Headed up by Keith Brown, who comes via Bank and The Jam House, the kitchen provides a stunning British and European menu reliant on local, fresh and quality produce and simple, sympathetic and unfussy techniques. An impressive selection of wines and champagnes are the icing on The Vaults extremely tempting cake.

Keeping it short...

Arrived at 7.30pm on a Saturday for our table booked for 10 people at 8pm...didn't get our table until 9.10pm!! Had to chase around to find out what was going on instead of enjoying my birthday meal. we were ignored and the service was terrible!we were told a table of 16 had arrived late and so we had to wait!!
Couldn't get served at the bar as a hen party were sat all around the bar having a cocktail making session(which is fine but no where else to get a drink from)
Drink very over priced for the quality far to expensive for cheap BBQ style glassware!! Ended up having to ask for some bread and olives as we were starving and one of our party was heavily pregnant and nearly had to leave as she couldn't wait any longer to eat something.

Once we got our table......
Table thrown together, cheap thin bargain cutlery and one tea light, paper napkins, table was dirty all smeared and marked,Table looked over a messy kitchen.
we'd booked a booth table and were then directed to the wrong table so had to stand around in the middle of the restaurant waiting to be seated! Eventually we got our table after a very long wait indeed.

Food was nice and well cooked but everything else ruined it. Staff were friendly but nobody seemed to be managing or taking charge and it showed.

Such a shame as the venue is gorgeous but the customer service is not good at all.since Birmingham has so many good quality restaurants of a high standard around it's surprising that this place is still open.

Will not be returning here again, just a real shame that I found this out on such a special evening.

On arrival we were taken to our booth, which was quite pleasant but very cold. The staff did bring a heater but it took a long time to warm the booth. We ordered our drinks (which were very expensive then ordered our meals, they took forever but there were 10 of us. The food was ok but luke warm we couldn't be bothered complaining at the time but when asked if everything was alright with the meals ? we told them then. They were very apologetic and offered us 2 free bottles of wine which sort of compensated on the poor meals.Everything was going well until we noticed our unfinished drinks were being removed from our booth by the glass collectors. We complained at the bar they reimbursed three drinks which was fine but drinks still were being taken by glasss collectors,. we asked them not to take drinks that were not finished and the birthday lady was verbally abused. We promptly left and would never go again.

Went to the vaults for a staff leaving do , on arrival it looked nice, staff were accommodating to extra guests in the party, they were also very good during the meal and we had a booth free until 10pm which was great.
The menu is small , which makes deciding on meal choices a lot easier however on a already small menu one of the dishes was already sold out by 7pm .
The glasses on the extremely over priced drinks were filthy , on complaint however a free drink was offered which was good. £4.60 for a bottle of cider is ridiculous it's not London !
Cutlery was dirty too, and plastic seats that wouldn't look out of place in a garden? And the "champagne" cocktails were made using cheap prosecco not worth the £7.70 price tag .
Toilets are desperately in need of a revamp , dirty , dingy , and half broken .
The redeeming feature is that the food was nice and so were the staff .

Went for my sisters 50th bday food was nice but cold they couldn't cater for 16 people , drinks were expensive the bar didn't know what they were doing , hired a booth and drinks kept disappearing by staff . Staff were abrupt and aggressive when approached , when I approach the management they were unprofessional and really poor . My advice is Birmingham is a big place do your research and find a place that deserves your money !!!

Party of 15 for a 50th party.
Meal was alright nothing special, food was cold after waiting over an hour .. they didnt want to change the meal when they finally asked if everything was ok and just said sorry!?
We then went for a drink and a dance .. all night full drinks went missing from a booth we had hired!!!
It then came to our attention that the glass collectors was taking our drinks and tipping them down the sink!!!
The glass collectors then got very rude and confrontational! The glass collectors Proceeded to be rasist to me and punched another member of our party in the face for no good reason .. WARNING PLEASE DO NOT GO STAFF ARE VILE AND UNHELPFUL, FULL OF ATTITUDE AND VIOLENT !!!!
