“Great value if you are visiting the NEC”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2010

I stayed here for two nights as I was in the NEC at an industrial Exhibition.
Ideal location as it is only 200 metres from the Airport, and easy to get to the NEC via the Skytrain.
Rooms are small with no frills but comfortable.

The hotel was very busy due to flight cancellations but staff seemed to work hard to try and appease everyone

we had a meal in the restaurant which was really nice and prices werent to bad and the carling was a nice pint

now the only critisicm i have is of the bed mattress quite firm but underneath mattress is a thin wooden base making it very uncomfortable

Stayed here for an event for the NEC. Once we had established where to park (£13, make sure you get the reduced rate), we left our car and went to the event at the NEC. This meant walking round the corner to the airport and getting the shuttle to the station and NEC.
Came back to hotel around 10.30pm and the bar was buzzing!
Check in was easy and room was fine, very small but fine. The beds were hard and looked a little like camp beds, but I like hard beds!
Bathroom was a pod like a space shuttle and although small was adequate. There was an odd stain on the door though.
All in all, fine for a 1 or 2 night stay.
Bar was buzzing but room was lovely and quiet despite being next to a airport!

This hotel is simply 1 minute away from the arrivals hall and for being so close i had the best nights sleep!

The room was of a very good standard and the bed was the best i have stayed in, in a hotel! I was in the room for over 24 hours as i was awaiting a connection flight and i got a good offer of £9.99 for unlimted imternet and use of movies, so i was able to catch up on all the latest movies

The Receptionist on check in was also very nice and informative!

The only small downfall was some small hairs in the shower and in the bathroom, but this was only a small issues as the good way outweighted the bad!

The hotel and rooms were clean and well presented, especially for a basic hotel. Much better than was expected after reading the reviews. Food in the restaurant was nice and very reasonably priced unlike most hotels who charge much more for a similar product. Drinks were good value too. We had no trouble sleeping, but we like a firm matress. If you are use to a soft bed the beds here may be uncomfortable for you. The bathroom is modern with a large shower unit and a decent shower, but no bath. Fine for a short stay. Bring a spare towel as the towels provided are very small and you only get one each.
Being near the airport we thought we would hear some noise, but the room was very quiet.
The hotel is very convienietly situated for the NEC, as a free shuttle is provided from the airport next door. This ran frequently and even on a concert night was not busy. We would definately stay here again if visiting the NEC. The staff were friendly and the hotel was good value for a budget hotel.
Only downside were the parking facilities, which although next to the hotel added £13 extra to our nights stay.

Check in was far more complicated than it needed to be, although staff were very friendly. Cost of the room was ridiculously excessive for what was provided. Over one hundred pounds for one night and internet and breakfast were extras which really isn't right considering the cost. Room decor was very poor. Room was very cramped. Bathroom good, but not great. Bed was a complete and utter joke, and so poor as to be unusable. The mattress was so thin as to be not worth the bother. Pillows much the same.

The hotel itself was fine. Clean and comfortable and served its purpose for my stay.

I would not stay at this hotel again as I rented a car for the duration of my stay and no car parking facilities are available at the hotel. You have to park in the Short/Medium term airport car park. This therefore means you have to pay extrodinate airport parking rates.

I parked for 30 mins when checking in and this cost me £3.30, then I parked for less than 2 hours and this cost me £6.50. I then parked overnight which cost me £13.80. Overall the cost of £23.60 for parking for a one night stay.

  • Liked — Hotel was clean
  • Disliked — Having to pay for car parking
