I returned to this place a year after my first visit - I am only an occasional visitor to Birmingham, This time I visited Colbeh with my wife, who is a great lover of Persian food and who needed some persuasion to try a suburban Persian. By gosh she was glad that I talked her into the meal by the end. The food is simply outstanding and the service/ambiance top notch also. If anything, the place has improved over its first year, the enthusiastic family who run the place say that they are continually striving to do source better ingredients and change the menu for the better. We tried the signature grills to share on this occasion, but I can also vouch for the slow-cooked lamb and selections of starters from my previous visit. There are few Persian restaurants in the UK that offer really good food and a pleasant ambiance too - this might be the very best one at the moment. It is worth making a special trip for a meal of this quality and I do hope that the hard-working and expert proprietors succeed with this place - it deserves to do extremely well.
