Was visiting the LG Arena for a concert. Arrived at the hotel early (free parking) and went to reception to ask where the arena was. Receptionist was very friendly and told us where to go. Followed the road down through this industrial estate and 10 minutes later (through the NEC) were at the Arena. After the concert, it was good to see everyone else queueing for the buses, taxis and trains etc and all we had was a short walk back to the hotel. Got to the hotel and checked in very easily. Our twin bedded room was on the third floor and very comfortable to say the least. On reading other reviews about it being too cold, was not the case for us. Just right. The bed was sooooo comfortable and the pillows were like marshmallows where you sank into them but with really good support. I have to say, it was a brilliant night's sleep and in the morning made a nice cup of tea. The wet room shower was lovely. Just enough to perk you up after the day before queueing all day! The shower gel was lush and made your skin all soft. Didn't stay for breakfast (a bit expensive at £9.95) but all in all a very pleasant stay and would stay again if I'm up for a concert in the LG arena or wishing to visit the NEC.

Stayed with colleagues working at an exhibition in NEC for 3 nights
Hotel was Ok bar a bit spartan but the staff were really very helpful
Room was fine good shower free wifi
Overall fine for a value for money business stay within walking distance of the NEC not a romantic stay away
Only had Breakfast fine £10 gets a taxi to a choice of restaurants in Solihull
One tip request a room on the car park side avoiding the road noise

It's the second time we stayed at this hotel.
We stayed last February and the food was quite poor and very small portions!
We thought we'd give it another chance as it being so close to the NEC and we was going the the Caravan show there so it's only five minutes walk away which is brilliant.
Well, the food has improved 100 times and so had the portion sizes.
The staff were all very nice and pleasant.
I'm so glad we gave this hotel another go and was really impressed this time.
I will definitely go back again to this hotel when we are visiting the NEC.
It's a little too far away from the city if that's where you are intending to visit.
There is another Encore Hotel in the city though.

Stayed here because of the loacation to the NEC, The hotel is very basic it did not seem to have a welcome feel about it, as we walked to our allocated room we noticed workmans foot prints out side doors and thought oh no, the room was very dark even with all the lights on, the heating could not be adjusted and was set to 23 degs, but did not appear to heat the room, It did have a fan heater in the room which did not work. the bathroom only had hand & body wash bolted to the wall. the room seemed to be clean to an acceptable standard. the food in the restaurant was ok for microwave meals. I would not stay here if i had to pay anything above £40.00. There are other hotels in the area, talking of area the hotel is in the middle of a trading estate.

When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist couldn't find our booking on the system and we had to provide evidence that I had actually booked. She asked if we had booked through outside tour operators (we hadn't) we provided our evidence of the booking via my iPhone email
They eventually decided to give us a room (thank goodness) we received no apology for the inconvenience caused.
The room was clean alhtough there was an horrendous smell in the bathroom which we couldn't get rid of and the bathroom extractor fan didn't work.
The lighting in the bedroom was poor... one of the lights in the bedroom didnt work and also one of the lamps had a bulb in it which was hanging out!! The bed was a basic double size, the linen was white and crisp and the pillows were fluffy and comfy. My son was staying in the same room with us and they had made a single bed up for him which was nice as sometimes he gets a sofabed!!
The room was freezing though and the heating doesnt come on for ages after turning it on. They must be aware of this as there was portable fan heater in the room which we used most if the time..
When we went out in the evening we were taking the car and we approached the barrier only to find that you need a code to get out..... no mention of this from the recptionist on checking in or as she had just said goodbye to us as we were leaving. No information anywhere in the room about this wither.... you would think they would inform you of these important things upon arrival.
In the morning the restaurant manager couldn't find us on his list and said we hadn't paid for breakfast.... again no customer service skills, we just felt like we were being treated very badly and we had paid for breakfast, he refused to believe us and went off to reception to ask if we had. He left a long queue of people behind us with no one to serve them and no explanantion to them. The breakfast area is crazy, the toasters don't work properly beware of toast being black on one side and not even a golden on the other side! There was no bowls for the cereal, the milk jug was empty and the cook breakfast was cold.
Our whole weekend was ruined, what should of been a one night relaxing family break turned into a very stressful one. Oh and by the way they say its a 10 min walk to the NEC but its more like 20 mins and its through an industrial area so be prepared to dodge forklift trucks!!!
