“A Haven of Peace and Tranquility.”

Woodbrooke is a heavenly place to stay. I come here several times a year to do short courses here and I always come away feeling refreshed and revitalised. To say the staff at Woodbrooke are kind, caring, patient, friendly, warm. approachable and helpful, is an understatement. They certainly are all these things. However, take each one of each thing and times it by a thousand fold and you will get to how wonderful the staff are. The food is absolutely superb and they cater for all types of dietary requirements. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and most of them are en suite. This is a perfect place to come for a retreat, a rest or to do a course. I highly reccommend the courses here. They are, of course, mainly on a Quaker theme but there are a variety of different topics to choose from, within the social, spiritual and personal developement framework. I can honestly say that I have never stayed anywhere where they think of every little detail. I highly reccommend this excellent place. Enjoy your stay!

We stayed at the Woodbrooke for one evening on our way north to Scotland. We chose this location because I am a Quaker from the States and wanted to experience the faith on the other side of the pond.
We were pleasantly suprised by the beauty of the center. Our room overlooked the fabulous gardens. While our room had a small television, our parents room did not. The library was extensive and I found it interesting.
Breakfast the following morning was a buffet with many traditional English fares, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, and teas. There was no additional cost for this, but had we chosen to eat dinner the previous evening, it would have been available for a reasonable cost.
I don't think this location would have worked if we had been traveling with children as there was an air of "quiet" about the place.

Woodbrooke is an old house that is a Quaker centre and used for conferences etc.
It is great that it is also open to anyone else as a B+B.
The food was surprisingly good (and they cater for people with special food needs, allergies, vegans, gluen free) and copious.
There are great lounges with newspapers and wifi access everywhere.
Wonderful garden!!
Being here is so peaceful it is like being in the countryside in the middle of the big city that Birmingham is.

I highly recommend this as a welcoming, comfortable and restful place to stay. We stayed over night because my friend and I were attending a wedding in Birimingham and live in London. I had my own ensuite room for £46 with a really good breakfast which I consdier excellent value. The place has a lovely peaceful atmosphere and the most beautiful gardens.

I stayed at Woodbrooke for a weekend course and was very pleased with the accommodation, food and staff. The rooms may be basic but they were clean and comfortable with the correct room temperature. The buildings have character and great onsite facilities including the use of IT and Wifi, a library and fabulous wildlife gardens. Woodbrooke also grow vegetables and herbs for the delicious vegetarian meals that I was served. I found the resident friends who are available to assist guests very helpful and friendly and when staying in Birmingham in future I shall definitely book Woodbrooke rather than hotels.

I attended a weekend course at Woodbrooke - it is a peaceful and tranquil place to stay. Excellent food and lovely surroundings, and only 20 minutes or so outside Birmingham City centre. Remember that Woodbrooke is principally a conference centre, so it doesn't offer quite the same service and facilities as a hotel. As a Quaker establishment however it is actually better than many hotels and B and Bs!!

I stayed at woodbrooke for a training course with my employer and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, my room comfortable and the gardens and grounds were out of this world.
