The cheapest and healthiest food place in Birmingham. When you visit open market around closing you can get two for one price. It is much cheaper if we compare with indoor market and other food chain markets. Worth to visit.

What a real contrast. I arrived in Birmingham parked in the Moor Lane car park and took the footbridge into Selfridges. Then you leave this Mecca of artificial market and enter the open-air reality of the real Birmingham Markets. I am always amazed at how some of these traders make a living - and what you can actually buy. Have a look for yourself.....

Had a couple of days away and we overlooked the markets and the Bullring, markets were brilliant, bought some veg to bring home with me, such a big choice and so cheap, the stall holders are all so friendly and helpful, looking forward to going back for some serious food
shopping, car next time instead of the train, will be able to get loads more, really is worth a visit.

Been going to the market every Thursday for the last two years. I go without a list, just rucksack and big hessian bag. I always start at Barlows fish, just buy whats looking good, if something is too small, they alwys have stuff round the back, and turbot to die for. One of the best fishmongers is H Satchwell. A small stall with a few bits of fish on display, but locals say it is the best, esp. for wild salmon. Pearces for shellfish. I have always found the meat not up to the standard as the fish. Walter Smith for its famed pork pies. Then on to the outdoor, no list, just buy whats good and seasonal. Then home on the train from Moor Street with ny bus pass.
