I stayed here for a week in November of 2010. The hosts were a Polish couple I believe, they were very friendly and accomodating, without intruding themselves on you. My room was clean and well maintained and had WiFi. It is close to a major road but the noise is not intrusive and actually I don't even remember hearing it. Not too far from Birmingham airport, and if you do not have a car there's a bus stop right around the corner.

The only glitch I experienced was the (typical for some areas of the UK) low water pressure pressure in the shower in the bathroom.

We stayed here in Nov / Dec 2010. First thing is that it's not a hotel, but a guest house so doesn't have a bar, restaurant or a proper reception area. The owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier. The English breakfast was great, and there's plenty of resaturants and a pub within easy walking distance.
It's situated about two miles from the NEC / airport, set back from a main road the rooms are very quiet and comfortable. Our only gripe was that the shower wasn't powerful but it was adequate.
If you're looking to stay for a couple of nights close to the NEC where the owners are friendly then we would reccomend this place, after 10 days we found that the room was on the small side - but we would stay there again.

My partener and i stayed at the sheldon guest house in september for 2 nights and found the facilities to be very clean and comfortable, staff were so helpful even catered for vegetarians. the cleanliness is upheld through out the facilities and we had a very quiet, peacefull weekend. The surrounding area is very nice with local restaurants that are very good, national park ha a lovely walk area for those that like to get out and about. Bus service is excellent into Birmingham or Coventry, saves taking vehicles into main towns. Thank you so much for making our stay such a stres free time. We woud recommend this guest house to anyone wishing to avoid the city centre but have a comfortable relaxing stay at a price that anyone could afford. thanks again. Iain and Brenda Bartlett

I stayed there two nights, visiting exhibition in NEC - great location from B'gham Int.Airport twenty meters from bus stop.
The B&B run according to traditional Polish saying: "Guest at home is like God at home".
Kind assistance and home atmosphere built by very friendly couple devoted to guests. Buttons - their labrador dog will always greet you waving her tail;)
The first place ever you can get so fresh vegies and fruits for breakfast and you can order in advance what to eat (full English, Polish, German etc.) and always start with cereal, yogurt, fruit... I was even offered sandwiches to go (after breakfast).
Room was clean and cozy, with bathroom. Tea / coffee facility.
Journey to city center takes nearly half hour in the morning. Probably the same distance to Coventry. Evening dinner - numerous bars and restaurants along two nearest blocks. I took my first chance at Toby's Carvery, then ate at Indian restaurant. Pity I did not have space for fish&chips in my stomach- it is also nearby.
Next time I surely will stay in Sheldon Guest House.

We stayed for 6 nights at the beginning of March. It's under new ownership, and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. We even got a load of clothes washed and pressed! Breakfast was full English and kept us comfortable under dinnertime. They also offer a Continental breakfast of fruit and cereal. The room was clean and well kept, with beautiful matching duvets. The mattresses didn't have any mattress pads or covers on them, so the springs kind of dug into you. We adapted by sleeping on top of the duvet.

The B & B is right on Coventry Road about a 5 minute bus ride to Birmingham Int'l, the NEC, and the train station. We found we could get around town very easily on the bus line as well. There's a Tesco about a mile to a mile and a half away. Not too bad if you want to get out for a long walk.

There are 2 restaurants just a block or so away. One is an Indian place named Shabar Tandoori that we liked so much we ate there 3 nights in a row!

The other was Arden Oak Harvester, which appears to be a chain restaurant. That restaurant could use a thorough cleaning of its carpets and seating. The food reminded me of any of a number of chain restaurants in the U.S.
