We heard that Pasta di Piazza had been reopened at the end of 2015 but hadn't yet visited. A family friend recommended the visit so we decided to book a table for me and my partner and our friends (another couple). We have been to other Italians that's are local that we enjoyed so that was what we was comparing to.
On entry of the restaurant we was greeted immediately and seated in a spacious booth.
The restaurant was spotless and loved that you can see the kitchen cooking, always a great sign of them wanting to showcase what they do and gives you peace of mind when trying somewhere new.
We was left to study the extensive menu, there was so much choice. Pasta, pizza, fish, chicken, fillet steaks.
We started with prawns and the calamari -amazing! Full of flavour and a great portion size.
Mains - I had the Seabass with spinach and garlic, my partner had fillet steak with a prawn and cream sauce, our friends had a mixed fish dish -monkfish, scampi and prawn & a fillet steak with a tomato and olive sauce.
Again the portion sizes with great. It smelt amazing when it was brought over and lived up to that. We all thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and of course had a try of each other's.
Desserts- I usually struggle with desserts in an Italian restaurant as I'm not a fan of tiramisu but again the menu was a great selection and I ordered the Italian gelato which was vanilla and chocolate with peices of fruit inside - delicious.
My partner had a banana split - he's still a child at heart
Our friends both had the tiramisu they said was lovely!
Drinks- extensive choices, peroni for draught beer and then they have house wine by glass up to a litre which was £16/17
Prices were what we expected and similar to other italians that are local.
But we all agreed we will now be returning here before visiting the Italians we would usually visit in Sheldon.
