Had an overnight here booked by a friend on someone else's recommendation! Very good choice great location- just across the road from the Cadbury factory.. Good clean room, very well keep, very clean and tidy with a quaint " rustic" garden. The hotel looked like it had been lifted straight from the country and dropped in the city. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone and will book it again for sure on our next visit to "brum"

My boyfriend and I staryed here with our daughter yesterday night as we visited Cadbury's World and it was a lovely place to stay. There was a nice warm atmosphere and the staff gave the place a personal touch. The room was lovely and well decorated, beds were comfy and the breakfast was great this morning with a large range of food. We thought it as fantastic value for money too. It's a great place to stay if you are visiting Cadbury's World as it is the closest hotel :)

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 2 and it was nice and quiet for us.

I stayed here to attend a family wedding, it was easy to find in a lovely area of Birmingham. Very reasonable prices for a room that was clean and comforatble. The only downside was some traffic noise from the main road. Beautifully kept gardens and enjoyable breakfast. It was a cross between a B & B and a hotel and had lots of character. Would definitely stay again

Shared a bed with my 9 year old son as there was a £10 supplement for a twin room. Found a dead spider under my water cup in bathroom and bathroom floor very dirty. Tv bit unpredictable, but bed comfy and breakfast yummy, super staff make up for faded old furnishings. Great location if a little noisy, but very expensive rooms.

We stayed at this hotel when a member of our family was critically ill in the nearby hospital. It was one of the worst times of our lives and we had no idea how many rooms we would require from 1 hour to the next or if we would require them at all.
The staff were absolutely fantastic, caring and ensured that the one thing we did not have to worry about was a place to stay. A very special thank you to Rhian, nothing and seriously I mean nothing was to much trouble, no matter the time of day or night. Every effort was made to accomodate the increasing numbers of family arriving and we were even given the overnight staff room. If available, we were left with additional room keys in case they were required.
When we arrived back late at night with a takeaway, plates and cutlery were immediately supplied and the bar opened and left open until we were ready for bed.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and bright both in the old and new building ( I can safely say this as we stayed in most of them over 5 nights). One word of caution would be that if you are elderly, avoid rooms 1 and 2 as these are at the top of a short but twisting, narrow staircase.
The garden area is beautiful and relaxing.
Breakfast was varied and delicious and every effort was made to meet our varied preferences including bringing my husband a "proper mug of coffee not that filtered stuff in a tiny cup". Thank you Marie.
The only good memory of that was has been " What a fantastic hotel and staff" and we have all vowed to return in happier times.

We've now stayed at The Old Farm several times. It's always been a very enjoyable experience, with comfortable rooms - whether up the stairs in the older part or at ground level in the newer. The food is great, both the breakfasts and the evening meals. The welcome and service are brilliant.

You can save money by going to one of the big chains in the centre, but we'd rather pay the premium to enjoy the character, location and tradition of this little gem.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, but traffic noise is less than you might expect. If you have troub...

The chap below obviously had a bad time at the hotel but it was so far away from our experience that I thought I should comment. We stayed twice in September 2011 as we relocated our daughter to university. Ideal location, very friendly and flexible. Meals were not offered when we were there but there was no problem ordering a take away and eating in the dining room with their cutlery and plates etc. Rooms are not huge but we were only there to sleep so not a problem for us. We will stay once again when term ends.

Room Tip: Lots of luggage? Ask for a ground floor room and avoid the tight stairs.
