Why does fine dining have to mean small portions. Wehad a night at the theatre for my wifes birthday and saw a good show (fiddler on the roof).
Beforehand we booked intp the circle restaurant which was really nice.
The food was of an excellent standard but why are thay so mean on the portions. I had plaice for my main which was ridiculousy small accompanied by 3 jersey mid size potatoes and some curly kale which would have fitted on a desert spoon. the meal came on a serving plate you could have fitted a turkey on so the food looked completely lost. The starter was smoked ham hock which again tasted lovely but there was a minisclue amount of meat, accompanied by 5 pieces of beetroot the sixe of a pea and a slice of fennel so thin I think the whole restaurant could have been served with one fennel.
Dont change anything Birmingham hippodrome just give a bit more food for what is after all a very expensive meal(roughly £40 a head with wine).
