all the staff here were really friendly and helpful from the breakfast chef to the waiters to the reception staff. Stayed for three nights and really enjoyed my stay. Room excellent. Flat screen TV, power shower, tea making facilities. Double glazing was good. Hotel very central and nothing is too far away. End of the street has Wotherspoons, Tesco metro round the corner, and only on the third night did I find this fantastic real ale pub called the Wellington 50 metres down the street and turn right. I walked past it two nights but well worth a visit if you like your beer. Broad Street with the canals and conference centre 10 mins away.

This was a family trip, and we were really pleased with the hotel, lovely staff, great breakfast, super location and so quiet you would not think you were in the city centre. A fantastic stay!

Room Tip: We had a room at the end of the corridor so really quiet!

Second time here and it is still our preferred choice for 1 or 2 nights in the city centre.
Rooms are a good size (compared to others in the same price range). However, generally good value for 1 night and very central. Car parks are a short walk away but not very far and perfectly acceptable with short stay luggage.
We used the automated check in, and on a quiet Sunday night this gave us (not surprisingly) a room on the first floor, but this was cheerfully exchanged quickly for a higher floor on request from the reception staff, who are always available and ready to help.
Only one downside - our room temperature on this stay was more difficult to control than on previous stays and as others have noted, this could be improved.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room, overlooking the cathedral

This was a business trip and I stayed here with a colleague. The receptionist was very friendly and even changed my room booking so that we were on the same floor. As we booked online we got the dinner/breakfast deal. The room was a bit chilly but everything was as expected and of a high standard. It was good to have a bath and shower as many now only have shower facilities. The evening meal was wonderful and the ambience in the grill and bar was relaxed. The bed was soft and I slept really well - couldn't even tell we were in the city centre. Breakfast had a great selection of foods. Would stay here again.

Like many others, we found our stay pleasant and easy. We both had a great night's sleep, and every service person we encountered was kind and helpful from check-in to check-out. Of course, it's a no-frills experience (weird soap-dispensers on the wall instead of soap, no free toiletries provided), but if all you need is a quiet, spacious and clean place to lay your head at night, this is a good bet. Perfect for touring the city on a budget. Ideal for business-travel. Centrally located.

Just got back from a weekend away in Birmingham.

We stayed in this fantastic hotel for three nights. I haven't got a bad word to say about it. From the minute we checked in (got to Birmingham at 9am and the hotel had a room to give us) to the time we checked out it was a great stay. Clean room and bathroom (with a great shower) and a big comfy bed.

It's two minutes walk from New Street train station and the main shopping district. But more importantly, it's 30 seconds walk from one of the best pubs that I've ever been in - The Wellington.

I will be staying here again.

This place is ideally suited for visits to the shops, Museums and ICC, NIA and Symphony Hall.

There is a coffee shop/ restaurant attached which we didn't use. Tesco Metro down the hill provided a good light breakfast.

Self service check-in, which is becoming a bit more familiar but still seems like a pain to me.
The room was a good size and spotless as usual. Only a hard backed chair though which wasn't ideal. I'd booked a quad room for the space but the 2 single beds were made up so that took away some space and, I guess, some comfy seating.

We had little staff contact but no problems either. There was a little late night traffic noise in our first floor room but not enough to disturb the usual Premier Inn sleep. It wasn't super cheap but neither was anything else on offer in the centre.

Room Tip: Higher floors would be quieter.
