We booked in on a 2 night special, Saturday and Sunday night. Staff were very polite and attentive on the reception desk and we were given a room on the 4th floor. A good idea as on these nights it tends to be very noisy outside and the further up you go, you hear less!
The room was large and very modern and the bathroom was superb. It had the French style of design on the furniture and the bed was very comfortable. It was clean and we had no complaints.
We had breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor and I would suggest that you book a room with it included as its a little pricey otherwise. Having said that, the standards were very high and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Charles the head Chef was superb in his attitude and he made us feel very welcome indeed.
The location of the Hotel is fantastic as most of the night attractions of Broad Street are within minutes, and so are the famous Canals. There is a myriad of eating places surrounding the hotel to cater for every taste, try Carluccios for a nice Coffee and cake in Brindley Place ! The Sea Centre is just at the side of the Hotel and almost opposite is the CineCentre Cinema that has the breathtaking Imax system.

Room Tip: The higher you go the better if its on a weekend!

The hotel itself is extremely central for all Birmingham's amenities, but unfortunately the only negative thing was that Broad Street was extremely noisy on a Friday night and I was woken nearly every hour. We have stayed at the hotel before and this was not a problem, it is obviously Friday night! The breakfast was, as usual, the excellent Novotel standard.

Very friendly staff, rooms clean and modern, the public areas are contemporary and welcoming. My gripe, like those of others is the £14 per day parking costs... Overall the Novotel is an efficient business based city centre hotel.

First time staying here and would rate it as fairly good amongst most others I have stayed in across the city. Rooms are good although very warm. Can be pretty noisy at weekends due to proximity of nightlife. Breakfast is way too pricey, best to go to weather spoons over the road and as for parking, don't pay their prices it's easier to park at five ways by the cinema as its only £6.40 for 24 hours and is completely secure. Overall a pretty good standard but there are better in the immediate area.

The Novotel has had a serious refurb since I last stayed there in 2000 and it is very smart. The room was modern and had all you would expect these days. The disappointment for me was the price of the extras. The cooked breakfast was £16.95 pp and the overnight parking £14. These items were almost the cost of the room. The reception staff were very customer focused and even called the room after 5 minutes to check that all was ok. The bed was a bit firm for us and the room was very warm. Overall it was as I would expect from a mid priced city centre hotel.

My team and I very much appreciate your kind words, and we’re glad to have been a part of your visit. To confirm, guests can now book their breakfast and add it a room only rate on our website, for the price of £8,95pp. The price if selected on the day is £13.95 per person. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Novotel Birmingham Centre.

We stayed here for a conference in March 2013. Paid £120 for superior double room with breakfast for two booking direct with Novotel website which seemed as cheap as anywhere. Hotel is very central and really quirky and modern but still manages to retain a friendly air. Room was not huge but ok with sofa in, beds comfy. Breakfast was fantastic, although not cheap at £13 each. Most of the hotel staff were excellent but there were a couple who could do with a bit of customer service training.
All in all a good 4 star hotel that I would stay at again
