“It was ok”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 via mobile

I guess i was expecting more from this hotel than it gave. Having stayed previously in both the jurys inn and the hyatt for a similar price this hotel did not compare. The check in was nice and easy, the hotel is nicely decorated and felt very welcoming on arrival. The room itself was adequate and the bathroom was nice. The toilet is in a very small cupboard which is quite claustrophobic as the door automatically closes, its ok for 1 night but i wouldn't want to stay longer. The bed was ok, not as good as the jurys inn across the street. We went to breakfast this morning and for 13.95 it let itself down. The choice was superb there was cereals, fruit, hot buffet, continental buffet and pastries. Unfortunately 2 members of staff did not seem enough to cope with demand. When we arrived at breakfast the room was just under half full yet we still had to wait while a table was set for us. I went to get cereal but never ended up eating it as there was no milk. All in all had there been more staff working in the restaurant then the breakfast could be recommended. Overall sadly the little bits of customer service that were missing have failed this hotel and its not somewhere i would choose again as there are other hotels in the vicinity offering better value for money.

This is a good middle-level hotel with decent-sized bedrooms and all the necessaries. Good location at the west end of Birmingham in Broad Street close to theatres and restaurants.

Couple of tiny niggles: soundproofing is not very much in evidence when merrymakers come back to their room in the middle of the night; and when someone was using the lavatory in the room above us we could hear ... well, you get the idea. Secondly there is a sign in the basement car park saying if you want to use the lift from there, lift the phone and ask reception. So I did, and they said would I just walk up the stairs please.

I stayed here recently for 2 nights and paid £100 a night it was not worth the money, was very basic and we had a lovely view of a brick wall !!!! £15.00 each for breakfast is definitely not worth it but there is a Wetherspoons 5 minutes away and serves an excellent breakfast menu at £5.40 for 2 breakfasts, drinks from the bar are also very expensive. Then they have the cheek to charge you for parking your car £14.00 a day absolutely day light robbery, only NOVOTEL do this. In future we will be staying at Premier Inn and it comes with FREE CAR PARKING !!

Room Tip: Stay at a premier Inn better value for money !!

Visited for a wedding.

It's a nice standard hotel, in a great location.

It is clean and modern. There is no wow factor however you will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the executive room. The bed size is very questionable however comfortable.

The staff allows this hotel to stand out. Special Thanks to Iyesha and the lady that does the breakfast with the one level haircut 5* for you both.

They have a great breakfast.

Parking is expensive, however it is hassle free parkjng and is a luxury worth having.

This is our second time staying at this hotel as we come for the T20 finals. As far as location is concerned it is brilliant. Close to everything and even walkable to Edgebaston Cricket Ground (about 30 - 40 min).the hotel is nicely furnished and the rooms are pleasantly decorated.
The beds are a bit too hard and in the summer the rooms are hot. You can open the window a little but then you suffer from all the street noise coming from Broad Street on a Saturday night, so not much sleep. They do have parking on site which is £14 a day. Will probably get the train next time as travelled from Northampton.
Haven't used the restaurant so cannot comment on quality of food.

I cannot fault this hotel. Very attentive staff, clean and well maintained room, good breakfast in the morning. Central location on broad street, ten minute stroll to Victoria square. Highly recommend this for business travellers. Wifi is free and has great connection speed.

Room Tip: Go for the executive room if you are planning a longer stay. You get that bit more space.

I stayed here on business and the reception staff were very helpful asking if I wanted the room on a higher or lower floor. For 3 nights the room on the sixth floor was great although £2.50p for a bottle of water was quite expensive

The breakfast staff were helpful and well done to all
