This hotel was very nice. The staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel could do with a refurbishment, as was looking a bit dated. Breakfast was superb. We would still definitely return to this hotel.

You want a cheap but decent place in the centre of Birmingham and this is place to stay. It's easy to find, near all the city centre shopping, car park across the street with discounted parking, near the cinema (next door just) and the gay district for fun. The rooms are small but clean and quiet despite it's location. You might want to miss out on the additional cost for the breakfast as you can pop around the corner for a decent and cheaper option. Again not posh but clean and great location.

I have stayed at this budget hotel near Birmingham city centre many times over the years. It is well placed for the city centre, New Street station and literally one minute walk from the Hippodrome theatre. The reception area has undergone a good makeover during the past year. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable with good quality beds and televisions. I had a minor criticism of my bathroom on a recent stay. The shower screen did not fit very well - necessitating a bit of a mop up job with a towel. As is fairly obvious for a city centre hotel, there is a certain level of noise outside throughout the night. However, this was largely overcome by some good secondary double glazing. Overall, great value and better placed than other Birmingham budget city centre hotels. I would be happy to stay there yet again.

Room Tip: If travelling by car, there is the china town multi storey opposite. If parking for more than a da...

Stayed for just 1 night. Didn't use any of the facilities or have any breakfast. Room decent size though bland and dull. Bathroom tiny. Like really tiny. I could sit on the loo, brush my teeth at the sink and put my feet in the shower all at the same time !
Would stay again but only if I got it at the cheapest price.

Dear Adam,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I appreciate your comments about the bathroom size. I would recommend that on your next visit, you request fully accessible room at the same price (subject to availability) or triple bedroom at additional fee of £30. Both have much larger bathrooms.

I hope that we will have opportunity to welcome you back again soon.

Kind regards,

Joanna

I reviewed this hotel about 7-8 months ago and found it seriously lacking as a business traveller, located in a busy nightclub/bar/ restaurant area so noise all night, coupled with very poor inhouse facilities. However, on my latest visit I found it refurbished, with free wifi and a basic food menu which met my needs. I also had a room overlooking the street rather than the clubs and bars behind the hotel. Self service breakfast was poor, due to the lack of replenishment of options. Still, for a budget hotel it was acceptable.
