Took my partner here to celebrate his birthday. We couldn't decide on wine - the staff were very helpful and allowed us to sample 3 different wines in order to make a decision.
We shared some baked rustic breads with roast garlic, then he had slow roast belly pork & I had the tortellini all lovely and very tasty.
Moving onto mains I had the Andersons Surf & Turf, my partner had the Shorthorn fillet which was upgraded to add the Surf for an additional £5, very reasonable in my opinion and an excellent option. Both steaks were amazing and very tender, I am not even a steak fan but thoroughly enjoyed it and will not hesitate to return again!
Unfortunately we were both too full to sample desserts but as the staff knew it was his birthday came over singing with a birthday dessert, compliments of them, a lovely addition to a very enjoyable evening.
Only a couple of grips - firstly we felt our table was slightly under lit and possibly too close to the neighbouring dining couple. We would also have liked to have seen a New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the wine list. These are personal observations only.
