Location, staff and atmosphere are all excellent. Breakfast was much improved over our last visit too, although coffee urn and fresh fruit availability is still a little disappointing. Excellent updated rooms though.

The hotel itself is in a fair location. In walking distance to shops. We got a taxi to Broad street at night which is where all the bars are.
We parked at the NCP which is behind the hotel, great location.... But beware! Its £19.90 to park for 24hours!! Rip off!!
The rooms were really nice, clean. Bed was amazing!! And super comfy!
All staff friendly and willing to help.

Dear Bram23,

Thank you for reviewing Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding our location, quality of bedrooms and friendliness of the staff. We will ensure all staff are made aware of your kind comments as it does give that little extra incentive to do it even better the next time.

Regarding the parking arrangements, we do have a concession with Apcoa car parks, located in China Town (about 2 minutes walking distance from the Hotel) at £10.00 per 24 hours. We would be more than happy to give you further details, if you could contact the Hotel directly.

Once again, thank you for your kind comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

This hotel is very close to all the sights. It was also clean and friendly, the only down side was the noise that we could hear from the road beneath our room. We were four floors up, but could still hear traffic activity throughout the night. We only treated ourselves to the breakfast on the Sunday morning but it was good value for money and it was good quality food.

Room Tip: Try to stay away from the dual carriageway

Dear ChrystalTips693,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experince at Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

As you mentioned, we are located centrally, about 2 minutes walk from the New Street train station, surrounded with bars, clubs, restaurants, theatres and other attractions which are partly the cause of the noise issues from outside. We have a double glazing in each bedroom which complies with the required sound proofing standards. We are also working very closely with the Local Authorities (we are also partnered with the Southside BID) to address some of the issues within the area (noise, drunkness, lighting, security and promoting the area). We do now have wardens (employed by the BID) working 24/7 to deal with some of the issues.

Thank you once again for your kind comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

Stayed in an executive room which I'd imagine is better than the norm. Big room, lots of windows and decent view (well a view of Birmingham anyway). Also good size bathroom, bathtub with shower, decent toiletries. Hotel is 2 minutes walk from the Bullring and right next to Chinatown. Found a multistory in Chinatown for £12.50 a night which was less than 5 minutes walk away. Reasonably good bar given that this is a hotel and a nice hotel bar is a rarity. Decent breakfast. Didn't experience any of the bad behaviour that some other posters have commented on. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your recent experience at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

We are delighted that the executive room you were allocated was to your satisfaction.

Regarding the parking arrangements; we noticed that you may not be aware of the concession agreement that we have with the Apcoa China Town car parks (you may have already parked at their car park) at £10.00 per 24 hours at present. Please contact reception to obtain further information on your next visit.

It is also encouraging to read your comments about the bar and breakfast service. We have passed your kind comments on to all concerned and a copy has been posted on to our staff notice board.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

The hotel location was great for shopping and going out in the evening and was easy to access by car. The hotel does not have its own car park but we were able to park just round the corner for £15/24hrs which was a reasonable price for this location (beware you need coins for the pay and display machine).

The rooms were pretty standard , but modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We booked breakfast and the buffet was good value for £10.50.

I've used this Holiday Inn several times as it is an ideal base for going to The Glee Club which we go to often.

Check in has always been easy with polite receptionists. The entrance is tucked away at the side.

My last stay was the Saturday before Christmas last year, so a very busy and noisy time for Birmingham however, from our 8th floor room we heard none of it and had a lovely peaceful nights sleep. The bed was comfy and the room warm enough.

Car parking; i always park in the Apcoa car park in the china town part. It's not far from the hotel and much cheaper (£10) but it does mean having to cart your luggage through qiute a busy part of the town.

Food wise we had the breakfast and it was good. I have no complaints about that.

The hotel is adeal for Birmingham Hippodrome, The Glee Club as well as many nightclubs. Although late at night if you are not as drunk as the peeps coming out of the clubs it can be qiute scarey walking back to the hotel.

Will use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Choose a much higher up room to get away from the noise outside.

Dear Tracey A,

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your recent experience at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.

We are delighted that your experiences at the Hotel have been good so far. It is always encouraging to receive such feedback.

Regarding the car parking arrangements; please note that you are able to unload your luggage by simply parking at the entrance before heading for the Apcoa car parks.

Concerning the area; we are closely working with the Local Authorities in the area to address drunkness, noise, lighting and other issues within the area. Being a partner with the Southside BID means that we now have extra funds available to re-generate the area. With the refurbishment of New Street Train station, we am certain that you will start seeing the improvements very soon.

Once again, thank you for your kind comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to Holiday Inn Birmingham City.
