Treated our staff & partners to a Muder Mystery night at hotel. Reception area nice enough for pre-dinner drinks & warm ambience in dining room. Food was very good, beef cooked beautifully, melt in the mouth standard which must be hard to achieve in a mass catering event. Turkey dinner also got good reviews from our table. Murder mystery was interesting but probably not best suited to rowdy Christmas parties. We were sat towards the back of the room & didn't have a clue what was going on at the other end - sure we missed loads of clues & suffice to say only 1 person in the room guessed correctly! Actors were fine, just a lot of guests who clearly were there for the beer rather than the mystery - made it difficult to talk on your own table at times, never mind keep up with the plot!

Only stayed one night for german xmas market. Receptionist a bit cold on arrival, not very helpful. We were in room 201 which was very hard to find. The room itself was a bit dated but of good size. Bathroom could of done with a facelift. Shower contols were loose. The room was very cold and no matter what we did couldnt get radiator to warm up. Breakfast was very good and the waitress very sociable and cheerful. Again when we checked out receptionist was still miserable. Overall for the price we paid it wasnt brilliant. It was about 10-15mins walk into broad street which wasnt too bad.

stayed here for two nights for a course. a very nice english style hotel with its own character. the room and bathroom was nice and clean but thats where it ended for the good points.

the shower regulator did not work properly in my room so i told the receptionist to check it out and i would be back from course at 5.30pm. i shouldnt tell them what time i would be back because that was when the nightmare begun.

the receptionist told us that the regulator is working and the manager will show us how to use it. when he checked it out the regulator IS broken and i requested to have a shower at another room so not to hassle them to change room, but nope they refuse to let me use another shower an i was forced to shower using water bottle. there goes the hotel hospitality.

the next morning i was getting ready to go to for course when i notice my MAC eyeshadow is gone. thinking i must have misplaced it so i brushed it off and went.

the day that i checked out i realise i lost my MAC brush, MAC brow gel, DKNY perfume, Bodyshop brow set. I've been to many places in the world and this is my first time i lost my items in a hotel.
i cannot say anything about it to the hotel because i dont have proof and they will say i should put away all my things, but it is my room for godsake!! since then when i stayed at another two other hotels in london i hide everything in my luggage which is ridiculous but hey i dont want to lose anymore items. i cannot believe this happened whilst i was in England.

i will never ever stay in this hotel again.

Stayed here on a Saturday night as we were attending a murder mystery night.

Murder mystery - not my sort of thing. Too many people in the room so quite noisy (we were all Christmas party's after all). Actor's tried their best but you couldn't hear them half the time so probably missed vital clues. In the end I gave up trying. The food was of good quality and waiting staff good (especially Bruno). Extra yorkshire puddings provided on request.

Room - had a family room. On arrival extra bed not made up, also had to ask for extra towels. This was done swiftly. Room is what you expect from a 3*. Bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated. Shower good also complimentary toiletries. We were on the ground floor so couldn't open the window. Breakfast was buffet style and very good, plenty of toast, tea and coffee. For what we payed for the room £96 in total I felt it was good value.

Just come back from one nights stay. The hotel was really nice with qwerky decor and food was good quality the only prolem was the staffing. I understand that it was busy but we had to wait awhile to get served and there seemed to be little staff trying to do everything but when do did get served they were very polite and helpful and the hotel was good value for money. And it was nice to see the manager working with the staff as in other hotels they tend to be doing " paper work" and when we had a problem with the heating he come to the room straight away and sorted the problem. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We booked this because it was fairly close to the city centre; at least that was what the blurb said - " 10 minute stroll"! I wouldn't like to stroll it!!! The room was on the ground floor but we had to go upstairs, along numerous corridors then downstairs! Eventually we found the room and we hated it! It was dowdy, the furniture was badly worn and scratched, the windows did not open and we like fresh air at night. the shower head was broken but just managed to work. You could only drain water from basin by removing static plug. The tv remote was missing and the lighting was appalling. Breakfast was help yourself buffet and the hot food had obviously been there for some time. You were given a "cup" of weak, warm tea (no pots for them), toast was brought immediately in order to go cold. If it was the only hotel with a vacancy we would not use it again !!!! Be warned!

Room Tip: Don't!
