Birmingham Marriott Hotel
Ranked #23 of 118 Hotels in Birmingham

Have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions previously, when visiting Birmingham for a night out/wknd away. Rooms are spacious, decor is old fashioned but gives it a warm feeling, and the beds are very comfortable. Hotel is in a good location, far enough from Broad Street to not hear evening noise, but close enough to walk to bars and restaurants. Breakfast is very good with a varied choice. Bar service and overall hotel service is good.

I stayed for two nights with work and can honestly say that it was a pleasure.
My room was large, light and airy and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and a pleasure to stay in with comfortable beds and soft pillows - just right!
I enjoyed the food in the restaurant. One evening was a themed curry night which was great fun, with plenty to choose from on the menu if you didn't fancy that. Breakfast service was quick with a lot on offer.
As I travel to Birmingham a lot I would stay again and have recommended this hotel to several colleagues already.

I love the hotel. I participated on a training course and the coffee breaks were just amazing, with themes ranging from chocolate, arabic, Alice in Wonderland, etc. The General Manager, Maria, is a delight, very professional and always in the lobby greeting guests. Great job!

Stayed 2 nights here in a room on the 5th floor; plus points - the friendly staff, good location for visiting centre of Birmingham, small but good leisure facilities and clean tidy throughout.
Not so good - fridge and safe in room did not work, the shower handle was missing and it took ages in the morning for hot water to reach us (had to leave it running for 10 minutes).

Stopped for one night at the Marriott Birmingham. It was the first time we visited in over 7 years but it is still a very nice hotel. The staff were very attentive and helpful, check-in/out was fast and Desmond on Concierge was especially helpful. We booked two interconnecting rooms at a really good rate (50% off the childrens' room). We ate our evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant. The evening meal was nothing to rave about but nothing actually wrong with it. Breakfast was fine, nice touch was the chef cooking fresh omlettes and waffles, very tasty! We used the pool which was a bit cool but clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples or families.

The room was spacious modern and clean. Check in was easy and all in all it was a nice city break. The morning staff at breakfast were exceptional and all staff seemed very pleasant.
The breakfast itself was very nice and the chef cooking fresh eggs and waffles was great.
Down points! After checking in we went to our room and outside the room next door there was a pile of breakfast pots at 2pm in the afternoon. We unpacked and went into the city to explore. When we got back at 7 they were still there. I notified reception and some were removed but several glasses and empty bottles remained. Not what I expect if a 4 star Marriott.
All in all we would return we just feel this area was a let down to a decent hotel

This is a great hotel. very near to a train station. Just like every marriott I stay in the in house restaurante is lousy but there are lots other places to eat. Nice rooms, wireless and a good location in a fun city. The city center is just one train station away. When I stayed here the rates over the weekend were cheap as well so this is a great place to get away to!
