having had a long day and eventually getting to the hotel to the words 'you've cancelled the room' are not what you want to hear!
The room was sorted but it took several attempts to explain that I do not leave a credit card with reception I finally got in the room
Pretty old fashioned and a bot threadbare in places the door handle on the inside stuck but no one seemed to take notice of that.
The tv didn't work so I had to call for another one! eventually about an hour and a half later i could relax and settle.
Morning was noisy with a business breakfast in so guests had to queue.
    Not exactly a great stay.

I've stayed in a number of Marriott hotels but unfortunately this is not one of their best. The location is good and the rooms are spacious and comfortable but could do with updating. The bathroom could also have done with some fairly major repairs. Breakfast was good. The best part was the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for a birthday treat for my daughter and got a fabulous rate via Philip on twitter who contacted me from a random status. We did enjoy our stay in a very comfortable bed, we had to have the bedding changed due to allergy which was done instantly.we used the spa facilities and the staff were very friendly. We needed some assistance with first aid for my child which was hard work as the boxes only had plasters and slings in so we had to pop the morrisons next door to buy bandage. I would love to stay again in the future and look forward to doing so!

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend with my wife and daughter. Hotel location is good as it is away from the vibrant of Broad Street but is a short walk from the hotel. But driving to the hotel is not easy task as the entrance is on one way street and very close to the roundabout. If you missed the entrance, you will have to drive around (or thru the Morrison car park). Also the is a rising bollard gate entrance to the hotel which slow down the entry and exit. Can't figure why a hotel would need a bollard gate entrance.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall the amenities and facilities are good but doesn't feel it is good family with young children. There seem to be a lot of large group mainly stag/hen group which make it quite noise during the night time when they come home drunk late at night.
I used the swimming pool with my daughter (15 months) and the pool is slightly cold and not suitable for children. It is 1.2 meter deep throughout and there is not stair to walk down. They only have the flat stair at the side which is dangerous to carry children down. Also leisure center staff unwilling to let me to wrap my daughter after swim with the leisure center towel with excuse that it is leisure center towel and they usually doesn't get it back from the hotel.
Other than that, I think the hotel is good. Large size room with good room amenities. I would said another draw back would be room is without minibar. So it would be difficult to store some children food/drink that require refrigerating once open.

Great hotel at the end of Broad Street. Has a Hagley Road address but the underpass leads directly on to Broad Street and for just a little more money the hotel far better than the cheaper Broad Steet alternatives. The hotels heating system failed on one night but it didn't spoil the stay. Even the basic rooms are lovely. The hotel is clean, breakfast is leisurely and served till late in typical Marriott style which is nice. Easy walk of the Symphony Hall, ICC & NIA. Not much further to walk to the town than it is from most of the Broad Street hotels
