I stayed here while at a conference at the neighbouring ICC. With a bridge connecting the two sites, it would be difficult to be better appointed.
The rooms are nicely furnished, extremely clean and a good size for UK hotels.
Breakfast wasn't included in my booking (and there is a Starbucks just across the street in the ICC) but I did eat at the hotel one evening. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced for the standard.

Lovely hotel, with a wide range of facilities.
Fantastic views over the city centre from out 18th floor room.
Used the leisure club (spa) which is first class. Very relaxing.
The hotels location is 5 minutes walk to the most entertainment and shopping areas of the city.
No parking on site, so do your homework and find fair priced parking locally. Would recommend this hotel to all considering a stay in Birmingham.

Room Tip: Higher floor the better the view. Book the spa - its wonderful

The first thing that hits you here is its location, with its own internal private covered bridge to the ICC and right at the heart of Birminghams nightlife on Broad Street, with the huge range of bars and restaurants next door and down the street, it's a top location.
The second thing that hits you is the foyer and lounge area, it's very contemporary and continental in design.
The rooms are a good size, bed very comfy. Bathroom is well designed. The floor to ceiling windows present a fabulous view across the Birmingham skyline, great for lounging after a bath and watching the traffic and hubbub of Broad Street.
The hotel bar is a part of the Broad Street nightlife and revellers drift in and out, adding to its atmosphere.
The staff are very attentive in all parts. We didn't eat so can't comment on the food, other than it was expensive, not unusual for this standard of hotel but in the area has to be a disadvantage, especially with Wetherspoons next door, serving a full breakfast for less than a fiver, one quarter of the Hyatt price. The wide choice of local eateries meant that it didn't figure in the evening choice either.
Finally, the lifts, there are 4 high speed lifts. We were on the 14th of the 29 floors, but lift waits were practically non-existent. I have waited much longer for lifts in 2 floor properties. They elevate like lightning, and 2 of them have a glass panel allowing you to view the ground disappearing beneath your feet.
I watched this building rise from the foundations upwards as I sat on the bus each day commuting to my first job. I read with astonishment the Birmingham Mails headline that an ordinary room here would cost £100 night. That was astonishing for Birmingham in 1990. The exterior hasn't changed, and actually neither has the rate, weekdays can be found around £100 and weekends would find you unlucky indeed if you couldn't find rates nicely below that amount. So, no inflation it seems at the Hyatt... But standards certainly haven't slipped. This place below £80 night is a seriously good deal and in my view it's unquestionably Birminghams finest hotel...

grt staff who dealt with all issues that seemed to keep coming up, even had to change room in the end, gave a complimentary breakfast for any inconvenience caused, they were very friendly, helpful and dealt with things promptly so that the rest of the time was really good. tour of the presidential suite which was great, staff willingly to show round and also invited back any time we wanted to view other rooms. hotel very good for broad street and nightlife, central to town, library, symphony hall, etc

Stated here for 2 nights on business and this is one if the nicest hotels I've been to! The building itself is very impressive. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and the floor to ceiling windows with impressive views across Birmingham were astounding! Unfortunately you do have to rely on air con to cool the room down, would have been nice to be able to open a window! But that was a minor point. The hotel is connected to the ICC by a bridge which was very handy. The pool was lovely and includes a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Breakfast was buffet style with ample food to choose from. The bar and reception area are also very impressive and clean. Would not hesitate in returning here.

Stayed here early September 2012. Great hotel, and room was lovely with very comfy bed, but sadly no opening windows meant relying on air-con through the night to get air into the room. Concierge service was excellent. Good buffet breakfast, although they did run out of cooked items pretty often, which entailed a wait. The spa here is sublime, and well worth booking a treatment in advance.
