Had a brilliant weekend away for my birthday we are regulars here and stayed in a junior suite which was lovely. The club lounge was brilliant and the service amazing. One downfall however was that someone had an accident by the pool we informed the spa worker who said "oh no" then hung up, we waited forty minutes for this to be cleaned which is disgusting. We were then informed by another couple they had waited a further hour before we rang for someone to come. Really let the hotel down. The receptionist also said she would phone back with someone to deal with our complaint. She never. Other than that it was amazing and I would definitely recommend! (For this review I am basing my star rating on previous visits as they all were amazing and the pool incident only happened the once...Thank god!)

Recently stayed here for 5 nights whilst hubby attended conference. Had lovely room on 17th floor with superb views over the city and beyond. Room was clean, practical and well serviced. The only problem was the air conditioning which took ages to get right and since you cannot open any windows this was slightly annoying. Pool (just the right temperature), jacuzzi, steam room etc well maintained. Although we had a set menu every night cause lots of conference delegates were staying in the hotel, food was good given the numbers they were catering for on a budget. Breakfasts very good with lots of hot and cold dishes to choose from. Staff in this hotel are particiularly helpful, courteous and pleasant. Particular mention should go to the lovely lady who serviced our room and the doorman/porter. If in Birmingham on business this is a good place to stay. Will probably be back next year.

I stayed here once before many years ago, but the company I worked for prevented me from returning on grounds of cost. I spent many nights in not very pleasant hotels in Birmingham.

Now that I work for myself I looked again at staying here. I was delighted to find surprisingly keen prices on the Hyatt website.

The room was very comfortable, nicely decorated and I got the peaceful night's sleep that I have been denied in many a Birmingham hotel. I'd definitely go back.

Room Tip: Tell the check in staff if you need a quieter room. They'll put you in the right part of the hot...

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel, time is not being kind to it and the breakfast today would have been unacceptable in a 1* Hotel.
No condiments on the table, asked the waitress who obligingly provided empty salt and pepper pots.

Tea and coffee delivered to the table with an empty milk pot...............just not what you would expect.

Cooked breakfast served on a buffet basis, bacon appears to be steamed, thrown into serving dish, scrambled egg only no offer of fried eggs...................what is happening here.

Room servicing lacking, no replenishment of tea, coffee sugar and milk, no new toilet rolls provided, what a disappointment...................oh and all this for £324.00 per night.

We stayed at the hotel for the first time a few weekends ago (visiting Birmingham to see Elbow at the LG Arena). We were checked in by a lovely chap called Mohammed Barat, who gave us early access to our room and a free late check-out too. The gym was really good - big & well-equipped. The rooms were spacious and smart, with great entertainment options - loads of films. After checking out on the Sunday, we had a very nice lunch in the atrium lounge and met another great member of staff - young waiter called Daniel. All in all, a very pleasant experience - many thanks.

We booked afternoon tea as the location was perfect for a concert we were attending at symphony hall. What a mistake. There was no record of our booking. The waiter gave us the lunch menu not the tea menu. The food arrived about 10 minutes before the drinks. The sandwiches had been left out and the bread was dry. The scones were cold and crunchy. New sandwiches were bought which were much nicer. A raspberry mousse was served in a shot glass and the teaspoons given to eat it with were too big to get all the mousse out! Definitely will give this a miss next time.

Stayed only one night for a concert in the Symphony Hall but could not fault the friendliness of all the staff we dealt with. the room was excellent with two really comfortable queen size beds and a grand view of the city. Found the link to the Symphony Hall very useful as it was blowing a gale !!. Everything you could expect room wise for a Hotel of this calibre, particularly the correctly positioned and illuminated shaving mirror. Room service was good and very tasty. I had not tried Hyatt before being a IHG gold member but I will most certainly use this hotel on future visits. only one minor gripe for all hotels and cruise companies re bathrobes and slippers, I'm XL my wife is size 6 (US 0/00) one size does NOT fit all, but a great stay and can't wait to try again.
