Cool hotel, up to date facilities - great views across the canal from my room. Check in was friendly and efficient. We didn't eat there so can't comment, but there are great restaurants around the corner in a square (with an old church.)

Loved the ensuite - great location!

It's an OK hotel, I've been here a few times and I will return, but there are always a few niggles, different each time, that seem to suggest that the management is not quite on the ball.....

Recurring niggles:
- No thermostat on shower so virtually impossible not to scald or freeze in shower
- No steam irons

Always hit one or more of: not enough reception staff on arrival, not enough reception staff in morning, didn't pick up on my gold passport number, charged for wireless included in rate, missed wake up calls, bathroom not replenished properly, coffee order not taken when seated at at breakfast etc etc etc.

Staff are always helpful and friendly though when you do get their attention.

It's OK but really could do a lot better.

We travelled tp Birmingham to sample the Frankfurt Market and watch the Aston Villa v Arsenal game. My girlfriend and I arrived at 19.00 on the Friday night. We were greeted at reception by Anastacia who was charming and handled everything with minimal fuss. Our room was located on the 12th floor afforded wonderful views over the christmas craft fair and the Birmingham skyline. The room was beautifully furnished with all you would expect from a hyatt hotel. The location of the hotel is purfect city centre shopping and the nightlife which Broad street affords. As a regular visitor to Birmingham I from now on will be staying nowhere else.

After booking our stay at greatly discounted rate using onhotels.com website on trip advisor we entered the hotel thinking the basement may be the location of our room if we even were allotted one at all, au contraire we were given room 2011 on opening the door we were delighted with what awaited us, a room with a view to die for with everything you could want to make your stay enjoyable, the robes provided with V.I.P on the back summed up how the hotel made you feel. We had booked the 3 course preconcert deal which at £18.50 was extraordinary value for the quality of food which was served my wife( a vegetarian, bless her) said the risotto she chose was the best she'd ever tasted and the option of two of the starters to choose from too she didnt feel as alienated as some set menu deals make vegitarians feel. The staff were very attentive without being overpowering. The walkway straight to Symphony Hall was a godsend allowing us to leave the coats and scarfs off and go and enjoy the RSO play classic rock. It was great to be back opening our room door 5 minutes after the concert had finished without having to brave the arctic conditions outside. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic so many choices of cereals and cooked items to choose from again the staff were welcoming and attentive. The checkout time of midday allowed us to peruse the snowy city at our leisure before checking out and walking back to the carpark although complimentary mercedes were available to drop you off if so desired. Many thanks to the Hyatt for a top stay in a top hotel

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and we had a fantastic stay. This is the only hotel we will stay at when we are in Birmingham, after several disappointing stays elsewhere. The arrival experience was great. We were directed by the concierge to the car park (about one block down the road) and he kept our suitcases safe so we wouldn't have to carry them back with us. Check in was very friendly and efficient. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was nice and the only negative comment we would make here is that the shower head is not of good quality and the water pressure was too low. Te set up of the work space area (desk) is very efficient. The lobby is beautifully decorated and quite impressive. We did not have breakfast or food/drinks at the hotel so we can't comment on this. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel and its ammenities. We were impressed with the Hyatt brand and have even become Hyatt Gold Passport members.

Stayed 3 nights in a club room. Fantastic in all aspects. Staying in Crowne Plaza thus time around. Will be interesting to see the difference.
Would definately come again... For business. Less suitable for families.
