Arrived on a Saturday where hotel was very busy with wedding and two coach parties (we were informed of this immediately by staff when checking in). Decided to book dinner there on Sunday so as to avoid busy Saturday evening. All staff polite and helpful from both reception to restaurant. Restaurant food was superb for adults. Children given good choice of ' hot buffet style meals', which they could help themselves to. Bedrooms clean. GIven a sofa bed for children which was not so comfortable for eldest. Chose hotel as close to Drayton Manor Theme Park attraction which we visited.

The Hotel has the usual nice Holiday Inn spacious bedrooms The gym was small and few machines. Wine very expensive, also waiter kept pushing his own choice of wine which had lots of bottles displayed on shelf behind him. Hmmm.. , food just okay, good parking facilities.
My biggest grievance was that wifi connection was costing £5 per hour which allegedly was at the managers discretion,.. yes the deal was "take 4 hours and one hour free"..wonderful I must say.
No good for business people wanting to settle in their room for the night and catch up with business online.,

As a family of five we always need two family rooms in budget hotels and therefore have to use Travelodges, but as we had not had a family holiday this year decided to look for a bit of a treat. Booked tickets to Cadburys World in Birmingham, so needed a hotel near by. Got a bargain through Superbreaks for a one night stay in two family rooms, including breakfast, for a great price. We were a bit suspect on what we would find, but we need not have been. As we booked on a Friday night for the Sunday the hotel had not received our booking, but this was not a problem, showed our confirmation from Superbreak and she made the best effort to put us in near by rooms and due to the inconvenience she up graded our room to an Executive one as this meant we would all be closer together. The rooms were compact, but three children in the family room and two adults in the double were fine. Kids beds already made, which was a bonus. The rooms were spotless and little extras in our room included bottled water, fridge and a proper telly with proper channels. Lovely nights sleep and breakfast in the morning was lovely, great selection. It is all self-service, but with picky kids it was ideal. I am so going to look out for more bargins in Holiday Inns as it just gives you that little bit more.

Room Tip: Executive doubles have a few little extras.

We stayed her for 2 nights with our grand-children. We had a family room that was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It was a wee bit cramped as we had 2 extra beds for the children but as we were only there to sleep not a problem. Clean bathroom with toiletries and nice shower. Often I find mould marks in hotel bathrooms but not here. We used the pool and that was good too with even towels provided. Breakfast was buffet style. Every cereal you could think of, yoghurt, fresh fruit, a hot buffet of bacon, eggs etc, a cold one of cheese and cold meats. Toast fresh bread and croissants, pain au chocolat and raisin completed. All this cost us just £36 a night! I don't know how they do it. Dinner was just as good and children ate free so again very reasonable. Ranjeet looked after us so well we could have been family and the hotel should value him for his attentiveness. Yes it was near the motorway but well set back and surrounded by trees and lawns. We would most definitely stay again and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I've stayed here a couple of times, both times for multiple nights. Rooms are clean with big windows, bed is solid and comfortable (a surprise for these kind of hotels), bathroom is nice and clean too, and the price is very good if you book early (about 50 pounds). Never had trouble with noise. Free and ample car park available. Wi-fi is pricey. Bus stop to the city center in front of the hotel. Food is not good, if you must eat near the hotel take a few minutes to walk across the street to Harvester. Gym is OK, pool is quite nice but cardio and weights area are limited (especially considering they operate as regular gyms with membership), but if you like to run there are great trails and roads just behind the hotel. There's no elevator, so you will have to carry your suitcases up/down the stairs if you are in the upper/lower rooms (due to the lay out, most guests are on these floors.) Staff is generally friendly and helpful but there were few occasions when there was no answer at reception and room service.

One big turn-off during my recent stay was room-service; I saw room service trays left out in the hall way for over 24hrs. There were lots of food left there too, that was disgusting.

All in all, I'm happy with my stay here and would chose again if I need to find a place in Great Barr area.

Let's not kid ourselves here. It's a Holiday Inn pretty much next to the M6 in a so so part of the West Midlands.

BUT

The staff were so friendly
The rooms were clean
It was actually pretty quiet

All in all, if you need to sleep somewhere near the M6 in Birmingham this will tick a lot of boxes!
