My boyfriend and me have visited this restaurant quite a few times at varying times on an evening- and we've always been pleasantly surprised. We tend to have to the same Chinese dishes in most Chinese restaurants and wasn't disappointed here! Beef ho fun, sweet and sour chicken and occasionally the odd rice or noodle dish.
If you're in birmingham and near Brindley place give tin tin ago, much better priced and value for money than the oriental Chinese restaurant the canal side of the mailbox!!

My partner and I went on a Saturday lunch time and although the good was hot and arguably tasty, it was nothing special. Made worse by the musty atmosphere, the dull and un-caring staff and cigarette smoke coming through the windows. They already have an overpriced menu and then put a 10% discretionary service charge on top - when asked for this to be removed the staff were utterly useless! They didn't know what to do, they tried to make us speak to the manager on the phone and they took 20 minutes to sort it out. Fortunately there was no other customers in the restaurant to be kept waiting, and now I know why no one else was there! Rubbish! Do not go here!

From the moment we booked the table we were asked how many people are ordering food, and when we said only 8 were ordering food and 3 just drinks, they stated it's not possible and that the other 3 will be charged as well.

After we got to the restaurant, again we were told in a very rude manner to point out the people not eating and that if they would touch even a single spring roll they would be charged (they got charged 10% extra for the drinks nonetheless). Horrible horrible service. Very rude. Food mediocre at best. There are so many great restaurants in Chinatown ... don't even waste your time going here.

Arrived Tuesday evening 19:00hrs unannounced with my 3 children (7,10 & 14) and given a table without any waiting.
Menu was pretty varied and we ordered starters. Prawn Toast (8/10), Spare ribs (5/10-very dry), Chicken Satay (6/10-chicken dry but sauce good).
Main Course: King Prawn Salt & Pepper (9/10), Shredded Pork with Green Peppers (8/10), Sweet and Sour Pork (8/10), Noodles with Veg (8/10), Yung Chow Fried Rice (8/10)
Food arrived in good time and overall very impressed.
Having lived in Hong Kong for 2 years, it was a pleasant experience and somewhere we would re-visit. Only negative, pretty expensive but you do pay for what you get and the portions were impressive.

The food and ambience of this place is very nice. My partner and I visited years ago on a evening set menu and we loved it then. We decided to pop in one lunchtime when visiting the city. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, and a good selection. We particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper tofu, delicious! The prawn noodles are also very good. It is worth a visit.
