“Bargain 30% off food”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Of the two cafe rouge restaurants I find the new street one is the one I prefer.whilst we have visited regularly ,I had not encountered these staff before., yet from taking our order to serving the food and wine the staff were lovely especially changing the chocolate sauce to a strawberry sauce and in addition giving us the opportunity to change the ice cream accompaniment with our crepes making a bliss dessert
My only complaint would be the ladies toilets, paper holder broken no light in one cubicle

“Very nice Cafe Rouge”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

This is one of the better Cafe Rouges I have eaten in. The staff are really friendly and polite, the food was very nice with nice, big portions and as usual I think it was very good value for what you are getting.
It's always slightly less busy than the restaurant in Brindley Place and Bullring, so it's not as noisy and it's in a great location in Birmingham's city centre.

“good food, well presented, good ambience, convenient”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Meeting a friend in the city centre, we are spoiled for choice on eateries but fancied something 'different' so visited this Cafe Rouge. We shared a bread starter and followed with mains of sea bass and steak - both of which were served promptly, well presented and tasty. The wine selection was varied and we enjoyed a very good white wine with our meal.
Coffees were good although service a little erratic on this - having specified a latte and americano, we received a latte and cappuccino. Still a small hiccup that didn't spoil our enjoyment.
Ambience good as we were able to converse without competing with background noise as in some eateries elsewhere. Good value as we used a voucher but otherwise a bit pricy for its offer. happy to recommend it on offer value, experience and service.

“Less busy than bullring.”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

Went for lunch with wife & x2 children, bullring branch experiencing gas technical issues so directed here.
Service friendly and attentive.
Starters nice, however I feel our main courses were prepared too early, as we shared our starter & when finished our main were delivered immediately! I mean 30 seconds later!
Moules, steak medium /rare & chicken with ribbons of leeks had all sat waiting to be delivered to the table, over cooked or at the very least sat under a hot service area for too long! Shame really as they all tasted pretty good, just over cooked.
Restaurant wasn't that busy, however staffing levels looked light, this could be the reason it all seemed a little rushed.
