“Just wonderful, the best we have ever stayed at”
Reviewed 4 December 2010

From the moment we arrived at the B&B we felt at home.
Katherine & Terry are the best hosts anyone could ask for, all the staff were friendly and very professional.
The location was great, you could walk to shops and train and bus services were very close by.
And the rooms are exetremely comfortable and clean.
I would highly recommend Elmdon Lodge to anyone looking for a wonderful and most enjoyable place to stay.
I can't wait to return soon!

Linda and I stayed at the lodge for 10 days visiting family. Katherine and family made our stay enjoyable and welcomed. Our next trip to the UK will include another stay in the Elmdon lodge.
Thank you again Katherine for you hospitality.

Kathryn & Terry welcomed us like old friends which is how we feel after staying with them several times over the last ten years.
Breakfast is always a lovely experience.

We stayed for one night as we had business nearby. We echo other peoples' comments: it's a nice, clean, friendly place to stay. We only had 1 meal (breakfast) and it was far better than we've had in many far more expensive places. All-in-all, highly recommended.

I decided to book Elmdon Lodge for a three night stay simply because of the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor, and I can only add my positive comments to those already on the site. Katherine and Terry were superb hosts who attended to our every need. The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed, including brand new beautiful downy pillows. We enjoyed evening meals of an excellent standard and had a thoroughly enjoyable break. Elmdon Lodge well deserves its position in the ratings and I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Elmdon Lodge on the way down to the West Country and liked it so well that we stayed there again on the way home. Terry has unfailingly helpful and kind, even when we arrived late and came down late for breakfast. On top of this he is a top-notch cook and the food was delicious - really some of the best I've ever had.

The only negative thing I can think of is that - although the beds themselves were fine - the bedding tended to be a bit uncomfortable. The pillows were made of a somewhat self-willed foam, and one of the beds had an plastic mattress cover, which made it rather sticky and uncomfortable. But to balance this the duvet was a feather-and-down one - utter bliss.

Thank you for your lovely comments and I am so sorry that the pillows were uncomfortable .They are now gone and replaced with some new duck down/feather pillows to match the duvets in the larger double / twin en suite rooms. Unfortunately the mattress had not been checked to ensure the waterproof mattress cover had been removed. We offer this protective cover to families with small children for obvious reasons and they are ( usually) removed when the family have checked out.
I hope that we see you again and thank you so much for taking the time to review our business. Kind regards, Katherine

Just returned from a business/leisure to Birmingham from Toronto. As we were travelling to the area for the first time, we made the choice to stay in a comfortable suburban neighbourhood instead of the busy downtown core. We could not have found a more wonderful spot to stay. Acocks Green is quiet, friendly and VERY convenient to downtown and all rail routes have easy access to day trips out. Acocks Green rail station is a 5 minute walk to/from the lodge. Our hosts Katherine and Terry are warm and welcoming as are their friendly staff. We had a very memorable stay and met some wonderful people during our stay. Thanks so much.
