I stayed for three nights in July 2013, for business. Overall, I was very happy with the stay. The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable. I took a bedroom with an adjoining lounge, as I like my space! The hotel has a nice open lobby and friendly staff. The executive lunge is a little cramped, but does a nice tea, complete with scones and cream, and I found the staff there also very friendly. The restaurant area is great, and there is an excellent selection at breakfast. I was there over a weekend, and it got pretty full, but was nevertheless enjoyable.
I had a few issues with internet connectivity, which was a little irritating. Additionally, the location is strange! The hotel is actually reasonable close (15 minute walk) to the train station and airport, but it is not easy to find the way between the hotel and the train station. There is a shuttle available, but I did not use it.
Overall, if you are ok not being near the city of Birmingham, it is a good spot!
