“Very Impressive”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

This is a lovely square surrounded by beautiful, impressive architecture, including the Symphony Hall, the library and ICC. It links the city centre with the canal basin/Brindley Place. Very pretty in Spring and Summer with flowers in full bloom.

Architecture is suburb. There are so many buildings with fine examples of beautiful architecture. The Birmingham Art Museum is here.

“A Great Place to Stroll in the Evenings”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

Centenary Square is surrounded by a number of distinctive buildings. It has a war memorial at one end and the Birmingham NEC at the other end. The Birmingham Library is located on one of the sides as well. It is a very well laid out square and is a good place to stroll in the evenings.

“Quite magnificent!”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

Seeing it again one recent evening, emerging from one tailend of the German Market, with the ferris wheel and the new library (the 'Wedding Cake'?) all gorgeously lit up reminded us how much we have loved this area for many a year.
Brought back to mind the Forward Statue(*) by sculptor Raymond Mason (believe it was known locally as the Lurpak Sculpture - the look of it, made out of cream coloured resin?)which we really liked (prob. one of the few to do so!) and still miss.
