Owner description: Uncover a world of chocolate delights and enjoy a fascinating, fun-packed day out at Cadbury World. From learning how your favourite confectionery is made and uncovering the fascinating story of Cadbury chocolate, to playing in chocolate rain and adding your favourite treat to a delicious pot of warm liquid Cadbury Dairy Milk. You'll discover the origins of the cocoa bean amidst trees and waterfalls in the Aztec Jungle, before jumping on board the magical Cadabra ride and visiting the brand new 4D Chocolate Adventure zone, a 4D cinema experience featuring Cadbury's most popular characters. Cadbury World is located in the grounds of the original Cadbury factory, but isn't a tour of the factory itself. Instead, you'll discover the history, the making and the magic of Cadbury confectionery as you journey through our chocolatey zones.

We visited Cadbury World yesterday as we live fairly locally and thought it would be worth a visit. However, we left disappointed and won't be returning. We bought our tickets online a week in advance so that we would be able to avoid queuing but as it turned out we still had to queue for 40 minutes to get in which isn't fun with young children. We spent nearly 3 hours there but half of this was spent queuing, first to enter, then for the Cadabra ride and again for the 4D experience which was the only part worth seeing & this lasted 10 minutes!
We didn't like the fact that it was organised like 'Ikea' so you can't just visit the areas you wanted - in parts we were held in areas so that the crowds could be managed as it was just too busy - it would have been much better if Cadbury World had let fewer people in rather than try and cash in on the school holidays. In addition staff were few and far between - there are definitely much better places to visit in the area.

Well a treat for young and old alike lovely walk through the factory to see the origins of the coco bean how it is made into the different components that make the chocolate and they give you 3 bars each and also a chocolate pot you can add one of for different mixes to the kids love this think its the fact they get melted chocolate, there are a few demonstrations as you walk around and then there the little train ride and a wonderful outdoor play area the kids can have fun i while the adults can have a cuppa watching them, the shop has some lovely gift ideas and they dont have to break the bank, a good day out for all :)

Great day out for any age -prebooked tickets so entry was very straightforward --Interesting and fun ,interactive displays re the origins of chocolate production and how Cadbury's has evolved over the years.Snap shots of the packaging of the chocolate within the factory .Chocolate bars given out at 2 points in the tour plus pot of runny chocolate with a choice of toppings ,all very yummy! Also enjoyed the Bournville exhibition and the children loved the play park .The Cafe was clean and the food really good with lots of choices for children and adults and was good value .We did not manage to see the 4D show or the walk around the grounds at this visit .We were there for 5 hours but could easily have spent the whole day .Entrance price when compared to other attractions is good considering what is included .Well Done Cadbury's.

It was a bit of a late decision to visit so there were only late slots available. The website recommends arriving an hour before to enjoy the 4d show and Bournville experience so that's what we did. Queue for 4d show - around an hour!! So instead we got an ice cream and visited the shop which although a bit more expensive than a supermarket, wasn't too bad.

Queued up for the tour at our designated time for around 10 minutes, got in and ended up in another queue for the first film. There were lots of people waiting meaning that the visual displays were too difficult to hear so no idea what that bit was about. First film done then into the second film, which. Would have been nice if these were optional to save all the hanging about.

The rest of the tour was ok, nothing too exciting. A ride that went so slow it was practically backwards. Luckily we didn't have to queue for long, I'd have been disappointed if I had to queue for 45 minutes. The green screen photograph was quite good and not too overpriced.

We got to the 4d show at around 5.20pm - no queue and it was very good albeit short.

The outside area was very good. Didn't eat but the food didn't look to overpriced.

In summary, it passed the afternoon and entertained the children, but could be so much more. If you are expecting a magical chocolate experience you will be disappointed.

Make sure you book before you go as there were several people being turned away!

We visited recently and had a great day out. I wondered what sort of day we would have , but was really surprised , it was really good and I would go again! We were given chocolate at various places on the trip, delicious!
Also the pot of runny chocolate , with toppings was just devine! On the day we went not many of the areas of the factory on view were working, I would like to go back and see more there. But the trip round, and the area at the end with the simulated ride was just great fun! Also we bought lots of great flavours to bring home. The family espcially liked the misshapes bags. Thanks Cadbury, your chocolate is the best in the world , and you gave us a good day out!
