Owner description: The UK's third smallest Cathedral, but truly stunning and the only green space within the city. Designed in a fine English Baroque style, this elegant Cathedral is decorated with four stained glass windows by Pre-Raphaelite artist, Edward Burne-Jones. Daily services and prayer, Cathedral shop open most days. All are welcome.

A small beautiful cathedral in the heart of town.
Lovely stained glass and to top it all the choir at 1 pm on Saturday were in full practice which was sensational to listen to only my wife and ten other people in the audience ,
The power of voices is surprising in an empty building .
I would recommend a visit to escape the city centre for a peaceful hour to reflect, easy to find a three minute walk from the council house .

After our visit, half an hour before, to Birmingham's Catholic Cathedral (which was full of colour and light), St Philip's Anglican Cathedral was the complete opposite. Some beautiful stained glass, but much of the features in the building were difficult to see due to the lack of light in the buidlding. Rather uninspiring.

The unusual English Baroque styling, the jaw-droppingly inspiring Burne-Jones windows.......Saint Philip's might not be large but that doesn't detract from its extreme beauty. Those who go judging something by how big it is are missing so much.

The Cathedral is also a very welcoming place.......no admission desk nor quizical staff members on the entrance armed with leaflets and litle else. Instead you can just wander in and see.......sit.......admire.......contemplate.

An utter joy.
