Owner description: The UK's third smallest Cathedral, but truly stunning and the only green space within the city. Designed in a fine English Baroque style, this elegant Cathedral is decorated with four stained glass windows by Pre-Raphaelite artist, Edward Burne-Jones. Daily services and prayer, Cathedral shop open most days. All are welcome.

“A pleasant surprise - not to be missed”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

I have to be honest that when I visited Birmingham for the first time in November for a weekend shopping trip, I did not even know that the city had a cathedral. It was only after seeing it marked on a city centre map and by spotting the pedestrian direction signs that I decided to go and have a look. Am I glad I did - this place is a gem. The stained glass windows in this cathedral are amazing. The staff on duty were very welcoming and informative but without being obtrusive. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and was lucky enough to visit whilst choir practice was taken place. This created a wonderful atmosphere - the music and singing was lovely. Even to someone who is not particularly religious it felt very spiritual and calming.
I have visited many cathedrals in the UK but I have to say that this one left a lasting impression on me - I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Birmingham and would definitely recommend as not to be missed.

“Peace amongst the madness”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

After a morning of shopping this place was a wondeful find, a little bit of calm amongst the madness. It is small and not what you would expect from a Cathedral but it was calm and beautiful in its own right and we were lucky enough to hear the choir practising for the evenings performance, lovely.

“Birmingham Cathedreal”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

This is Birmingham's Cathedral and not St Martins in the Bull Ring which a lot of people think. It is a nice building inside but not as big as you would expect for the 2nd City. Beware there are a lot of people in groups hanging around on the grass and benches

“Bliss in the heart of town”
Reviewed 12 May 2013

A small beautiful cathedral in the heart of town.
Lovely stained glass and to top it all the choir at 1 pm on Saturday were in full practice which was sensational to listen to only my wife and ten other people in the audience ,
The power of voices is surprising in an empty building .
I would recommend a visit to escape the city centre for a peaceful hour to reflect, easy to find a three minute walk from the council house .

“A dark and uninviting building”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

After our visit, half an hour before, to Birmingham's Catholic Cathedral (which was full of colour and light), St Philip's Anglican Cathedral was the complete opposite. Some beautiful stained glass, but much of the features in the building were difficult to see due to the lack of light in the buidlding. Rather uninspiring.
