Stayed here on work trip to Birmingham. Exactly what we needed, had a family room with the sofa bed set up - relatively comfy considering its size :) our view was of the bullring, all of a 10 second walk across the road to get inside for shopping. Had breakfast in the morning, but I wouldn't again would refer to grab something en route as it wasn't great BUT had a huge variety of things - cereals, juices, cooked eggs, sausage and beans - just not my cup of tea. Would definitely stay again, the hotel has recently been upgraded and its exactly what you'd want if your on a shopping trip or work outing. Staff really friendly, and I have no complaints at all - definitely one of the nicest travelodge's I've stayed in - and would happily do so again.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel recently on a short trip to Birmingham. We were met by a very pleasant receptionist, who sorted out a room for us on a higher level, so as to escape the noise, which is inevitable with this very centrally located hotel. The room was very clean and spacious, being a 'family' room and contained the usual double bed, very comfortable, single bed with second pull-out one, desk, chair and television. The bathroom was very clean and well presented, with plenty of space to put your toiletries. There is a small hanging space for clothes, 6 hangers, but no further storage. What would have made this room better is a small chest of drawers on which to store our case and clothes (we had to work off the floor for the whole of our stay). Considering that Travelodge are obviously trying to encourage families to stay (they offer 2 free breakfasts for children under 15 with a full paying adult) there is nowhere to store any clothes that they might bring, if their stay is longer than one night. Surely one extra piece of furniture per room would be a good investment? We had booked breakfast, which is served in a very pleasant cafe restaurant on the ground floor. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast is an 'all you can eat'. It was of a good standard, but oh dear, why do hotels nowadays consider it is alright to serve hot food on cold plates? Where have all the wonderful plate warmers gone of yesteryear? Travelodge do themselves a disservice with this, as you need to eat very quickly to keep it hot! Please invest in some plate warmers for your chain, it will improve your service immensely! We had one meal in the restaurant in the evening, which was very acceptable and a good price. On a more positive note, despite the missing drawers and platewarmer, this is a very good budget hotel and we would stay here again when visiting Birmingham.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 7th or 8th floor for a quieter night and a fantastic view!

Located right in the city centre. You step out of the front door and you're in the bullring shopping centre. However you are also near to Birmingham's club land and a lot of the other guests are young and a bit loud. However if you can put up with a bit of noise it's a good place for an overnight stay. The rooms are basic but clean. No air con. So if you need fresh air you have to open a window and that's when it gets noisy. Everything you would expect from a Travelodge.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't face onto the car park that's where the noise seems to come f...

This hotel is well located for the shops, but beware the market next door works through the night so there is noise throughout the night from vehicles loading/unloading. Not too bad with the windows closed, but with no air conditioning there are times when the windows need to be opened.

The room was basic but clean and in good condition having recently been refurbished. The bed was comfortable. One of the better Travelodge rooms I've stayed in.

Reception staff were polite and friendly. The first room we were given had not been cleaned from the previous occupant, but reception handled the problem well and gave us another room.

Breakfast was ok but there is plenty of choice nearby for breakfast and dinner.

I regularly stop here, its centrally located to everything, there is a bit of noise but you will get that being so central, nothing enough to disturb sleep, or hear noise in my room, i have stayed on several floors and been around different other stayers but never had a problem. The staff Dene and Edwin are fantastic, so are the others but these two members of staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble, have stayed and had breakfast and although very basic does the job. You are left to just relax when having breakfast or having a drink in the bar, can request for channels to be changed over on the tv.

Located just few steps away from indoor market, chinatown, and Bullring (the main shopping mall in Birmingham), and about 10 minutes walk to the main railway station. The room was tidy and clean, quite spacious considering its relatively cheap price. However, there was electricity problem on several rooms so I changed the room twice. The electricity went dead on my room after I use the water boiler, twice. Hopefully they had already fixed the problem now.
