The hotel generally was fine. However it was certainly not four star. There were building works going on and the bar and restaurant gave the impression of being abandoned.
My particular issue is with the reception staff who were working at the hotel. I'm astonished to hear other guests describe being treated with warmth as I felt I was treated badly. On arrival I felt we were treated as an inconvenience and were not provided with info about why the bar and restaurant or anything else that might help us. We left the hotel an hour after checking in and I went to reception to ask for a number to order a taxi. The desk was unmanned with a little handwritten note on a scrap of paper staying 'back in 2 mins'. I waited for 5 then walked around looking for help. I eventually returned to he desk and looked around the side hoping a number might be pinned to the desk. The receptionist then returned and told me 'never to do that again' and insinuated I had taken something. Unbelievable!
In brief: hotel is OK, probably 2*, location is fine, use this place as a bed and don't expect to socialise here. Certainly don't expect the staff to treat you with respect or any level of acceptable customer service.More
