We were looking for a place to stay near to the NIA as we had an event to attend and the prospect of queuing to leave the car parks and driving a couple hours to get home was not appealing – this hotel was ideal as it is a 3 min stroll to the NIA. There is a multi-storey car park right next to it with 24hr parking for around £15. As well as the restaurants within the hotel there are a wide range of good quality restaurants in the area, both in Brindley Place and Broad Street. The immediate area around the hotel is peaceful but the restaurant area has a nice busy vibe. If you are going to see a show it would be wise to pre-book somewhere for an early supper as it was very busy and most places we're pretty full by around 6.30pm.
The hotel itself has a clean modern feel, slightly minimalist. It was mid week so unsurprisingly there were lots of business people checking in; they pretty much dominated the check in and bar area but it was fine.
Room: We stayed in a Queen deluxe on the fourth floor. The room was a decent size, not very large but well appointed, and more than adequate for one night. It was clean with a comfortable and medium firm bed. The Apple iMac tv as mentioned in other reviews was supported by the keyboard and mouse which were in a drawer. Tea and coffee making facilities were located conveniently next to a plug socket; the mini bar was empty, presumably you need to pre-book this.
Bathroom: Clean and practical, with everything fit neatly into a fairly small space. Good toiletries and towels supplied. Easy to use shower, nice even water temperature and good water pressure.
Breakfast: This was not included so we paid extra for it. There was a good selection of fruit, juices, breads, scrambled eggs, bacon sausages and you could also make your own fresh waffles. One member of the breakfast staff was a lovely smiley lady and by far the most helpful and friendly member of staff we'd met (possibly Betty?). I only mention this because several other members of staff, in particular the night staff, seemed very 'bored' when dealing with guests and even strolling a few feet to the reception desk from the back office seemed far too much trouble.
Overall though we can't complain and would definitely stay here again.
