Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham Brindleyplace
Ranked #23 of 118 Hotels in Birmingham

We were looking for a place to stay near to the NIA as we had an event to attend and the prospect of queuing to leave the car parks and driving a couple hours to get home was not appealing – this hotel was ideal as it is a 3 min stroll to the NIA.  There is a multi-storey car park right next to it with 24hr parking for around £15.   As well as the restaurants within the hotel there are a wide range of good quality restaurants in the area, both in Brindley Place and Broad Street. The immediate area around the hotel is peaceful but the restaurant area has a nice busy vibe. If you are going to see a show it would be wise to pre-book somewhere for an early supper as it was very busy and most places we're pretty full by around 6.30pm.

The hotel itself has a clean modern feel, slightly minimalist. It was mid week so unsurprisingly there were lots of business people checking in; they pretty much dominated the check in and bar area but it was fine.

Room: We stayed in a Queen deluxe on the fourth floor. The room was a decent size, not very large but well appointed, and more than adequate for one night. It was clean with a comfortable and medium firm bed. The Apple iMac tv as mentioned in other reviews was supported by the keyboard and mouse which were in a drawer.  Tea and coffee making facilities were located conveniently next to a plug socket; the mini bar was empty, presumably you need to pre-book this.

Bathroom: Clean and practical, with everything fit neatly into a fairly small space. Good toiletries and towels supplied. Easy to use shower, nice even water temperature and good water pressure.

Breakfast: This was not included so we paid extra for it. There was a good selection of fruit, juices, breads, scrambled eggs, bacon sausages and you could also make your own fresh waffles. One member of the breakfast staff was a lovely smiley lady and by far the most helpful and friendly member of staff we'd met (possibly Betty?). I only mention this because several other members of staff, in particular the night staff, seemed very 'bored' when dealing with guests and even strolling a few feet to the reception desk from the back office seemed far too much trouble.

Overall though we can't complain and would definitely stay here again.

Nice place with nice rooms...the roads were a bit tricky with the car. First timers in the area will have GPS fun and the car park for the hotel is a tight sqweeeze in a big car. The rooms are clean and new although a bit small. The room service is great though and the prices cant be beaten for what you get.

Most of all, round about this hotel, there is loads...especially on the restaurant and the supermarket front. So if you fancy some in room food without calling for room service then try the Sainsburys!

Would defo go back!

Stayed at this hotel for a girlie shopping break. When we arrived at the hotel they could not find our booking (made via Travel Republic) but this was soon rectified and a room was made available. Room was nice however we only had a shower and no bath. Free Mac in the room is a nice touch. The room was very very warm during the night and I could not seem to get the aircon working - but that may have been me! Our room rate included breakfast and was pre-paid but when we went down the next morning they said we did not have breakfast included. It got very embarrassing when the queue started to build up behind us while they sorted the problem out! Breakfast was good, although I had to wait 5 minutes for the cooked food to be replaced as on my first visit to the buffet it was virtually empty.

Had a 1 night stay here as we were attending an event at the ICC, and the location of this hotel for that venue could'nt have been better. Add to that the fact it is located at Brindley Place where there is no shortage of places to eat and for nightlife. The hotel itself is very pleasant, modern, bright and welcoming, room was very nice with facility for making hot drinks as well as a fridge and ironing board ,iron & hairdryer, add to this that cleanliness, comfort of the bed were all excellent. Staff were very friendly & helpful in all areas of hotel and we would have no hesitation in staying here again. Breakfast is well worth the money , good choice of food available.

Me and my partner stayed here before as a mint hotel so thought we'd try it as it had been refurbished to a Hilton.
On arrival, the reception staff were helpful and quick at check in. I arrived prior to my partner so took advantage of the apple system in the room which was at no additional charge.
The beds were comfy and the room clean
Our only gripe was with the heating/air con system which did not seem to have any affect on the room. I am not normally a hot person but found the rooms unbearably hot. By the end of our stay we both commented on how claustrophobic we felt!
Breakfast time was extremely busy and we did have to wait but it was a Sunday morning.
We would use this hotel again maybe at a reduced rate as by the time you've added parking fees it starts becoming expensive.
Excellent city location if your looking for a night out with a good selection of bars and restaurants in walking distance.

I didn't have much choice in where I was staying as my work booked me in here but I was pleased with their choice. The hotel was in a nice area with plenty of restaurants, pubs and other amenities. It is very modern looking inside and out, staff are helpful and I'd stay here again.

The room itself was very clean with Apple TV, Neutrogena toiletries and a big cosy bed. There was ample wardrobe space for a short break, tea and coffee facilities and drawer space. A free safe was included to keep your belongings safe. Reception staff were helpful and check-in and check-out were swift. The breakfast was good although I'd prefer a pot of coffee to a single cup. Good range of food though. The bar was expensive but that isn't unusual for hotels of this type.
