“a family affair”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

we stayed recently here for a family wedding, about 14 of us in all, occupying about 7 rooms. Hotel was centrally situated in Birmingham and rooms were very modern with every facility you could need. Parking was a bit too far away though.

Dear Reviewer

Thank you for your great comments about our hotel. At Hilton Garden Inn we aim to exceed guest expectations so we are really pleased that you had an enjoyable experience.

Next time you stay with us you should treat yourself to one of our signature cocktails that we offer in Brindley Lounge, or have a tasty bite to eat in our contemporary City Café restaurant. Also, it is worth noting that we do have 25 car parking spaces underneath the notel, and failing that there is a Q Park just next door.

Kind regards

Clean, bright hotel in heart of City centre, so some noise from pubs/clubs but that is to be expected. Great room for a nights stay after a function. Excellent facilities in room. Cooked breakfast self servie, so coould have been hotter and better cooked but still tasted good.

We stayed here for two nights (a friday & saturday) and came down from the north west to catch the start of the german christmas markets.
We arrived a good few hours too early to check in but this was not a problem they had a secure left luggage area so we could just go straight out and come back later that day.
We checked in with no problems and our room was on the 4th floor over looking the hotel entrance area which was fine.
Our room allocated was also what would be a disabled room which was fine as the room itself was I guess much larger than a standard twin/double room we had a lovely large bed room area Apple Mac TV which was a new experiance for us and a fridge which was an added bonus, our only gripe would be that when using the bathroom everything is very low and nowhere to put any of your toileries and nothing in the walk-in shower area to pop your soap/shampoo etc... the sink taps were also very hard to fuly turn off - this would not and did not have any negative aspect to our stay it is only to point it out.
The breakfast was very good, the staff are very well organsied and very polite which can be something you dont experiance at a breakfast sitting in many hotels - the breakfast on saturday morning did seem a little less busy and more tidy etc... than the sunday morning but then I would assume the hotel was filled more on saturday night with people visiting and going out for the evening and in turn making the breakfast very busy more towards the 10.00-10.30am times with most people leaving breakfast as late as possible - again this wasnt a problem we were given a table straight away but just needed to wait a little to get what we wanted for breakfast but again it was a very good breakfast.
The hotel staff in general are all very helpful and friendly.
We would NOT hesitate to stay at this hotel again and if possible we will be looking to get it booked for between christmas and new year!!!

the first room we were allocated had no hot water , so an hour after we checked in we were finally allocated a different room. There was obviously a problem with the water , which was denied , as the water was coming out of the shower cold/warm/you name it! The breakfast was very poor compared to other Hilton hotels we have stayed in. We will never stay here again! It was a waste of money!

Stayed with two other couples for a special occasion including a meal out in Birmingham
Very friendly reception staff upgraded us (as a Hilton Honours member) and the rooms were fine.
We returned to the hotel at 1140 pm as a group and went to the bar planning to sit and have coffees but were told very bluntly that the coffee machine had been turned off and that the bar in any case would shut at 12am. This rather soured the point of the evening and we resorted to fetching our own coffees from the rooms and sitting in one of our groups rooms. Not quite the plan!!
The breakfast was a bit of a let down with especially the hot food area needing a proper clean up around the containers and in general it was chaotic and not the best.
