Hotel was located in a very convenient area. Very clean. Rooms small but contained everything you need. Would recommend.

We stayed in City Inn for one night only (unfortunately) but there was nothing we didn't like. The rooms were basic but big enough and clean. The bathroom was also clean and fitted with a perfect and big shower. Each room had a kettle with complimentary coffee/tea, milk etc.. There also were comfy armchairs and a small table plus a desk with an iMac. Free broadband worked well and so was the air con.
Breakfast was great with both hot food to order and self-service buffet.
We had a few drinks in the hotel bar in the evening, wich were really nice and not so expensive. There was a small mix-up while we were paying, but in the end everything was sorted out.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just next to Brindley Place and 10mins from the Bull Ring.

We stayed for one night at the City Inn as we were attending an event at the NIA 18th/19th July.

The title pretty much says it all - we had a very enjoyable stay and a fab weekend - can't fault it. The staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was lovely. Really liked the internet in the rooms, robes, hairdryer, iron etc.

As well as being only couple of minutes from the NIA and the other facilities in the "Convention Quarter", the hotel is well positioned just off the main drag for all the pubs, clubs, bars, restaurants and access to the canal area which was beautiful in full bloom! I just was not expecting Birmingham to be so well kept but someone deserves a big thumbs up - the area is attractive with flowers EVERYWHERE. Everyone we met, whether shopping or eating, was very friendly.

Can completely recommend the Thai restaurant (Kinnaree) near the Mailbox (shops/bar complex etc).

One more thing, all the hotels seem to charge for parking - my son stayed at the Novotel next door and ended up paying £36 for 3 days parking in an adjacent public car park for a 2 night stay. We only paid £12 for the City Inn's own secure private car park for our whole stay (although spaces limited). Factoring the cost of parking into your stay is important as it's not cheap so another plus point for the City Inn :-)
