i went on the group on deal. was not expecting much because of the price bt would off preferd a tent in the car park and a happy meal! on arrival we was told that 12.50 for the evening meal was between 2 so we agreed and went for a pint. flat pint i may add! there was no strongbow, no stella and flat budweiser. great start. we complained and gt our 2nd meal free but we didnt realise what we let ourselves in for.5 items on menu. which were all poor. we sent both meals back as the chef was just reheating all the meals in the microwave. it real was the worse place i have ever stayed! the rating off 1 is for the breakfast which was faultless. this hotel needs a good clean aswell as the staff

This hotel is a budget hotel, the bedding was clean and I can't make any real complaints apart from the room smelled very musky. The walls were thin, towels were tiny, but I expect that kind of thing from a budget hotel.
We chose this particular hotel because we needed somewhere with parking, however there was a wedding on at the hotel that evening so we had to park on the street.
Overall a fine stay & the staff were very polite... but if you don't need the parking or are staying more than 1 night then I'd recommend trying to find a similar priced deal at somewhere in town.

Used GroupOn voucher, reception staff very friendly, rooms 'pretty' clean but small. Next room were talking and laughing (fair enough) until 1AM but thin walls kept us awake. Room at the back looked over a nice part of the canal but not much else. Restaurant looked nice for the price but the service was very poor, Maria our waitress clearly had no interest in serving us and made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience to her. I overheard her ordering the bar staff to call a room and tell them to come and collect their room service order from the bar themselves! Food itself was nothing special but right for the price, breakfast was lukewarm to cold buffet style. Free wi-fi in room was useful. Good for stags / cheap wedding venue but not really for a relaxing get-away... unless you're on a budget

Room Tip: As far away as possible from the main hall (in case of weddings!)

We had a Groupon voucher for this hotel which included breakfast and meal for two. When we arrived it was apparent driving up to the hotel why the deal was so cheap. The hotel is certainly off the beaten track but do not be deceived I'm not talking country lanes it is situated on what is akin to ian ndustrial estate. We booked in and were told that the meal for two would be up to £12.95, no not each between the two. I was surprised but then thought perhaps the meals are cheap but alas I was wrong. We were charged another £12.95 at the end of the meal. The food was atrocious, it really was like eating cardboard. Several items were not available. We order a bottle of water. One glass had to be taken away because it was still dirty. The new glass once filled with water was obviously soap from the bubbles sitting on the water itself. The experience was so bad that we did not visit the restaurant for breakfast the next morning, choice to have bruch in town. The room was a reasonable size as was the bathroom but dated in terms of decor. The hallway had a musky smell. The walls are paper thin and you literally can hear word for word what is being said in the next rooms. Best part of the stay was the late check out at 3pm, handy as we had taken to our beds through the ordeal.

Room Tip: I really couldn't say we were on the ground floor perhaps less noise on higher floors.

We used this for a group on business making a short stay on a small budget, and for that I'd recommend Campanile before Travelodge as they're cheaper and breakfast is included...even though they imply it isn't in the room card. In fact, all the staff quoted different prices for breakfast to our members, which didn't impress the one who paid for all of it, but made the one who got everything for free very happy.

Beyond that the rooms are pokey if there's 2 of you, towels are skimpy and there's not enough of them and the bedding could be fresher. But the staff were generally very helpful and if you're passing through somewhere and need somewhere cheap and reliable, this is a good bet.
