Spent two nights here a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are a bit basic but clean and functional. The restaurant is very good, the prices cheap and access to central Birmingham is about 5 mins by taxi.

A good base for a city break I'd say.

stayed at this hotel for only one night and was fairly impressed although the room was maybe a little tired looking and could do with a fresh lick of paint, it was clean and had all the nessacary facilities,
The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was good with a wide choice,
I also ate in the restaurant in the evening and have to say the food was amazing and it was a very reasonable price

We chose this hotel when we were going to a show at the NEC, and were quite happy with it. We thought it good value for the money. The triple room had a proper bed for my son (rather than a pull out sofa thing which they have at Travelodges). It was conveniently located, within walking distance of the Bullring shopping centre.

A few niggles: the room was in serious need of redecorating and the bathroom especially looked very tired and shabby (but there a good supply of toiletries provided and tea, coffee etc.)

I don't know why they put the small TV so high up on the wall - you have to lie on the bed to watch it!

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the place had a nice atmosphere. We would use it again.

Yep, a budget hotel, but does what it says on the tin. Good 3-for-2 night rate. Room (overlooking part of the canal system) was quiet, clean and comfortable. The hotel is on the edge of an industrial area, right on the Ring Road and well placed for Aston Uni (10 mins walk) and the city centre/museum/theatres and Bullring (20 mins walk). Great (free!) secure car park and a "safe" area to walk in, at least during the day. Didn't use the restaurant or bar. Reception excellent. Would return without hesitation.

A little bit out of town, but still within 15 / 20 minutes walk or £7 / 8 in a taxi, this hotel offers fantastic value for money and offers decent rooms, nice bar and friendly staff for the price. If you are on a tight budget this is the place to stay in Birmingham !

I only needed a bed for one night and this was pretty good value at only £35 (special offer for December). The room was OK and reasonably comfortable though the fittings are showing their age a bit. I also happen to have the buffet lunch at the hotel every now and again so can say that the staff are nearly always from overseas, but they always seem very helpful to me (I suspect they send them to sunny Brum for training purposes). The breakfast buffet was fine. Overall it ranks as OK if you just want somewhere basically comfortable.

Stayed for one night, while attending a show at NIA. Check - in was a nightmare, they couldn't find our reservation, and I think the receptionist that served us was new (and foreign) so it was a bit of a struggle, and after 3 hours of driving we just wanted to check in! anyway we got sorted and were directed to our room. Room was OK, a liitle small, but perfect for one nights stay. Good, well equipped bathroom, and comfy bed. Taxi was organised for us by receptionist and the free parking at the hotel was ideal. Did have a drink at the hotel bar, but the bar shut at 11 so we couldn't have a drink when we returned, which would have been nice, as after the show we didn't want to go and mingle with the party goers on Broad Street, we just wanted a quiet one! We did however bring a bottle of wine in to the hotel, and this was acceptable. We didn't eat in the hotel as there are plenty of good restaurants in the city, and we booked a room only rate so skipped breakfast too. Check out was a very generous midday, so no rush in the morning. Overall good budget accomodation for a night or two :)
