Travelodge Birmingham Airport

Stayed here May 2013 with friends, we were four and booked two double rooms. Even though the room was fairly small and the bathroom even smaller, it was all clean, comfy and just generally good price/quality ratio. Too bad the window didn't really open, which is something I like. The bed was definitely comfortable, the shower felt great and it's definitely more than large enough for two people. Didn't have any trouble regarding noise, though we heard a few people saying they did hear their neighbours at times, so maybe we just got lucky.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even when it was really busy. It's not as close to the airport as the name suggests, though you can get there in about 5 minutes with a (in my opinion cheap) taxi. There is also a bus, which is cheaper if you (like us) are going back and forth between the Hilton (for a convention) and the Travelodge.
The food they offer (I had breakfast and dinner there) is really good! Both breakfast and dinner have more than enough options, though we had to wait a while at breakfast as certain things had already gone before we got there. Dinner tasted very good as well, definitely good price/quality ratio, though you might want to take your time, as it can take a while if it's "rush hour". Not a complaint though, because the food was great and cheap and we were in no hurry.
All in all, great stay, I'd recommend this for people who want to stay close to the airport in a relaxed and generally cheap hotel.

Room Tip: Not as close to the airport as you might think, but takes only five minutes by taxi and it's fai...

This is a modern, clean, functional hotel. My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.Downstairs there is a spacious dining/bar area. Please note, this hotel is NOT at the airport.I don‘t think you can walk to the terminal from here.I paid £7 taxi from B‘ham international. The hotel arranged a taxi for me to the airport the following morning. This was a fixed price of £7.

When all hotels near the NEC and Birmingham airport are quoting in excess of £200 a night for single occupancy, obtaining 2 double rooms for single occupancy for two nights for £200 is a bargain.
I had reservations when booking as you know what they say "you get what you pay for" but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and all in all it was great value for money.
Admittedly the rooms were very small, with no bath, only a shower. However the beds were comfy and the room was clean.
Food in the restaurant was great and served until 10.00pm, and bar prices were not extortionate.
My only grumble would be at the parking facilities. £7.50 a day, no choice in the matter.
The hotel is situated on the airport perimeter, so with the window open it can be noisy at times, nothing major. Close the window, it's all soundproofed and you can't hear a thing.
We used the airport whilst attending the NEC. Literally a 5-10 min drive away, very convenient.
If you have time and it interests you, the motorcycle museum is also only a 5 min drive away.
Very impressed and would stay there again if I needed to stay near the airport or the NEC.

Stayed here for one night after seeing Katy Perry. Checked in fine, staff so friendly and helpful. They booked a reliable cheap taxi firm for me every time I needed one. Just a 2 minute drive from the arena which is fab.

Room was clean, modern and had everything I needed. Breakfast was lovely. A really reasonable stay. Not good location for shopping in the Bull Ring, and was woken by a plane, but as it's called Birmingham airport travelodge what can you expect!

we booked this due to its closeness to the airport and price as we had an early morning flight to catch. It served its purpose, being clean and comfortable. Parking was not unreasonable and the transfer was at a very good special rate.

This hotel is very close to the airport and so makes it very easy to travel to departures, especially If you have an early flight.
You do have to pay to use the car park, but given that the hotel rooms are so cheap, it still works out excellent value for money overall.
There is very little aircraft noise.
The family room is perfect - 1 double bed and 2 singles.
Very clean / new linen etc
Food in restaurant is good and again well priced

We usually stay at the Ibis near the airport if a hols departs from Birmingham, but on this occasion they wanted a scary £150 a night room only!!! [usually much less than half that] so we decided on plan b and that's where this location came up, we based our decision on reviews from Trip Advisor, and add to the fact the cost was much less than the half asking of the Ibis, it was a done deal. booked on line without hassles, we arrived sat night, reception check in swift and untroubled, our room was fine, hotel was chocker with some major event taking place at the nearby NEC, despite that, service in bars and restaurant was efficient and very cheerful. a taxi was booked to whisk us the short hop to the airport...Food was fine, drinks pricey but we expected that!..one glaring omission was the absence of hairdryers in the rooms...but apart from that we'd deffo use this hotel again on hols from Brum.. dead easy to get to from M42 NEC junction, just up the A45 en route to Birmingham...

Room Tip: higher rooms are better, and they are all well glazed against any extraneous noise...
