Although this is a large hotel, the quality of this hotel was excellent. The quality of our king room was faultless - with all the amenities we would expect from a Marriott hotel, and all in very good condition. There are three places to eat - cafe, cocktail bar and restaurant and we had very nice meals in all.
I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a weekend break away.

We stayed here on a Sunday Night Golf Special (£99) per person for dinner, bed and breakfast and 2 rounds of golf.

We arrived on the Sunday lunchtime and there was a crowd of people checking out and the duty manager asked whether we would like to leave our bags and go and grab some lunch, whilst the queue subsided. He also asked whether he could help in any other way - which he did by changing our tee time for the afternoon so that we could complete our round before it got dark.

We left our wives to check in and played the Aylesford Course with two other golfers who were on a conference and thoroughly enjoyed the course even though the fairways were extremely wet after 24 hours of rain.

Our wives had spent the afternoon in the pool and spa and finished off with a full body massage in the beauty parlour. The room was spacious - the shower was powerful and hot - and the bed comfortable.

We took dinner in the evening and we were really pleased with the service and the quality of the food. The staff were knowledgable and helpful and made the experience a very pleasant one.

After a quick and early breakfast we had a 7:30 tee off on the Arden Championship course. Being a 2 ball with a string of 4 balls behind us, within 15 minutes we had the course to ourselves and were able to enjoy the surroundings and the wildlife without having to worry about other golfers. Being early the greenstaff were still on the course and they were also helpful and informative - especially on the back nine where you play in the deer park amongst what felt like hundreds of roe deer. Although the course was wet the greens were really quick and true and the whole experience was one to savour. I would thoroughly recommend this deal to anyone.

Stayed in the hotel for a weekend break. The room was good and clean, and we found the staff polite and helpful. However we ate in the hotel resturant on the Friday night. The soup was only warm and tasteless, and my wife ordered as main couse chicken supreme on a bed of rice.
This turned out to be a plate of overcooked rice, that was in a congealed lump, that had to be cut into pieces to eat it. Sat on top of this was a solid chicken breast with a bone sticking upwards out of it. No sauce. It was completely tasteless and unedible. The price, - £25 a head for two courses.
I complained to the management on checking out , (who was very appologetic), and was given my money back later that week.
Apart from the meal, a very nice hotel. Sometimes things do go wrong in the kitchen, and in this case the hotel did the right thing to make ammends.

Its a shame that a simple checkout procedure, and correction to an incorrect bill could cause so many problems and ruin what would of otherwise been a fairly pleasant stay.

We had a superior room that overlooked the golf course, there were some nice touches in the room, chocolates, ample toiletries, dressing gowns etc... But on opening the bed we found the quilt to be dirty - they did change the bed lined without a problem, but you would think when you are paying £180 night they could afford to replace old or stained linen.

Our first nights diner in the resteraunt was nice but the service was slow due to most of their waiting staff attending to a wedding, our second night was much better, and the staff were much more attentative.

The majority of the staff were very polite and helpful - it was just at checkout we had a nightmare.

Basically we were supposed to be on 2 nights DBB with a £50 drinks allowance, but on check-out they had charged us for our diners and not reduced the drinks bill, charging us over £100 extra. When we queried the bill we were told that because we had booked on-line we had booked the wrong deal and were only booked as bed and breakfast, so were would have to pay the extra! When i asked how could this error, whether mine or not could be sorted out, they replied in a very curt fashion that it had gone through on the system and there was nothing they could do. After more than 30mins of arguing and being told it was all our fault by three different receptionists, they eventually adusted the bill to the correct amount.

When i returned home i checked my email confirmation, and i had booked correctly and it was the hotels mistake! So much for customer service!

I'd read a few poor reviews of this hotel so was a bit wary but I was extremely impressed.

My room was very large, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and all communal areas were lovely. The grounds were beautiful.

I would highly recommend this hotel for a business or leisure stay

Its so long since we stayed in a hotel that delivered whats promised - a real welcome, comfortable rooms, delicious food, a good nights sleep etc. - that I had begun to think I was turning into a middle aged moaning minnie, with standards higher than my budget permitted. This hotel has restored my faith in English hospitality. Wonderful, helpful staff; huge linked rooms; fabulous food; beautiful location. Set in the countryside, with two golf courses, tennis courts, a spa with two pools, both decent sizes, lovely showers and changing rooms and a gym, it was a wonderful three day break. The village of Meriden (the geographic heart of England) is close by, with lovely pubs and restaurants. Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre is 14 miles away (say 20 minutes by car). Don't go on the first day of the sales like we did, though! The hotel is going through a phased refurbishment which will be finished by May - but no mess, or disruption was evident. The rooms do need a lift, but still are of a very high standard. You will love it if you want a country break in the spa, with the prospect of a days shopping and a good pub supper.

After our initial problems in booking with the hotel website, we were given an upgrade to our accomodation. We were going to a concert at the NEC and this hotel was perfectly situated for this, approx 10 mins away.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, surrounded by a golf course or two. The reception were very professional and set out beautifully.

Our room was slightly disappointing. We were told that we would have robes and slippers, however they were not there and the room itself, especially the bathroom were in need of a serious upgrade (which the hotel seemed to be advertising would happen this year). The bathroom also had a few hairs on the floor and wall which is NEVER nice. Yet when we arived back form our concert there was a bottle of red wine and chocolates for us.

Breakfast was probably the best thing about this hotel. The staff were very professional and helpful and the breakfast variety was fantastic! Everything from full english, which you could help yourself to, to healthy choice of Danone and yoghurt.

Once this place has been renovated, I am sure it will be a lovely place to stay.
