We stayed here for just the one night, rooms were ok and clean, our gripe was with the guy who seemed to be waiting tables serving in the bar and doing the odd jobs. He really does need some customer care training. The remote control in our room would not work so I phoned reception and asked for it to be fixed. I was told someone would be up in 5 minutes, 20 minutes later I called again, the guy arrived and said this remote is wrong one he then said he would get a new one later if I wanted to wait or he would get it immediately if I wanted to watch TV. I opted for the later he trounced off and returned with the correct remote, by now the news programme I wanted to watch was finishing so I saw the last couple of minutes and went to the bar. The guy was now serving in the bar as I ordered my drink he proclaimed that I should be watching TV as he had gone to the trouble of getting the new remote. To say the least I was flabbergasted that a customer was being told what to do by the staff.
It was a raining really hard so we decided to eat in the hotel and our man brought the food dumped it on the table in the very spartan dinning area and looked across and said your food ready there. He will need a lot of training.
The plus side is the food was really good as was the freashly cooked breakfast we had in the morning, so at least the chef knows what he is doing.

There are a lot of hotels around Birmingham and this one will be very low on my list for a revisit.

Terrible service from as soon as I came in! Man on reception was more than rude when checking in. Later that evening myself and my friend went to the bar area to have a drink before dinner. However the bar seemed to be closed and after asking I was refused a drink due to them apparently 'cleaning' terrible as I had been there over 3 hours and couldn't purchase a drink of them! Would never come to this hotel again. Customers were phoning reception complaining that items in their room were not working and again the same man on reception was terribly room! Radiators didn't work either and no one done nothing about it.

We came on Sat 26th - Sun 27th October as a group of 9 with 4 rooms.
Staff were friendly.
Rooms are okay - basic needs provided.
Floor boards very creaky and furniture looks old, but can't complain if it's only for the night.
A variety of options for breakfast - from fruit and cereal to the hot menu (eggs, hashbrowns, beans etc..)
Also a hot drinks machine for hot chocolate, cappuccino's, coffee's etc... which is nice.
Plenty of space in the car park and located ideally.
Must visit Bullring shopping centre - good experience.

Very friendly hotel, great staff.
Easy access to Birmingham airport.
Great food and drink at reasonable prices.
Locals shops and banks nearby, plenty of places to walk to in the evening.
Underground station 2mins walk away, so can get into Birmingham easy for the evening.
This hotel is very easy to locate and is just 10mins from the airport.

Room Tip: All quiet rooms

We booked this hotel on Late rooms.com and paid £53 for a double room - bed and breakfast. We requested a quiet room and were pleasantly surprised that our request was carried out. We did drive past the hotel though at first and spotted it as we drove past. Reception staff were excellent. I had seen some reviews where people had booked bed and breakfast but when they arrived they were told they'd just got room only. The lady booking in before us was told it was room only, and she said she'd booked it on the internet for bed and breakfast. We were told exactly the same! They did say they had now changed to room only rates, but our breakfast was honoured so we were fine. The room was clean and tidy. Bed was really soft too. Food was really good - no complaints. We went to an event at the NEC and it was only a 20 minute drive on Sunday morning.
