We stayed here for just the one night, rooms were ok and clean, our gripe was with the guy who seemed to be waiting tables serving in the bar and doing the odd jobs. He really does need some customer care training. The remote control in our room would not work so I phoned reception and asked for it to be fixed. I was told someone would be up in 5 minutes, 20 minutes later I called again, the guy arrived and said this remote is wrong one he then said he would get a new one later if I wanted to wait or he would get it immediately if I wanted to watch TV. I opted for the later he trounced off and returned with the correct remote, by now the news programme I wanted to watch was finishing so I saw the last couple of minutes and went to the bar. The guy was now serving in the bar as I ordered my drink he proclaimed that I should be watching TV as he had gone to the trouble of getting the new remote. To say the least I was flabbergasted that a customer was being told what to do by the staff.
It was a raining really hard so we decided to eat in the hotel and our man brought the food dumped it on the table in the very spartan dinning area and looked across and said your food ready there. He will need a lot of training.
The plus side is the food was really good as was the freashly cooked breakfast we had in the morning, so at least the chef knows what he is doing.
There are a lot of hotels around Birmingham and this one will be very low on my list for a revisit.
