We were much anticipating our visit to Purnima following all the rave reviews. In general, it didn't disappoint although there were a few niggles which leave room for improvement. The starters and main courses were all excellent; we had a good mix including bengali tilapia and chicken jalfrezi. Curried prawn was good as well as an excellent special stir fry of chicken and prawn. The naans are always a good indication of the quality of a restuarant's tandoor oven and these were perfect. The owner and chef have a great understanding of food and spice/flavour combinations; the style is actually more leaning towards Bangladeshi rather than Indian. If you're brave enough, just tell them what you like and you'll get "off-menu" chef's specials; that's what we'll do next time.
As for niggles - desserts are bought-in frozen products and not particularly inspiring. The restaurant is on a busy street so parking may be a challenge; some parking spaces near-by are for residents only after 6pm.
In summary, great food at good prices from an enthusiastic kitchen. We'll be back!
