“The hotel was quite pleasing with good points which outweighed the bad.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2011

My only complaints were that the room, at the top of the hotel, was stuffy and inadequately ventilated. The traffic noise was loud with the window open and the window wouldn't open properly either. Safety device! Oh, and that some parts of the hotel looked as if they could do with redecoration.

Overall the room was of an adequate size, the bed was comfortable, the TV was quite good, the room was well enough lit and the bathroom and shower (no bath) were good. Breakfast was excellent, well worth an 8 out of 10 on my very stringent scale.

Breakfast finished at 9:30 and they were rather quick to clear away, but I expect this is in keeping with the reasonable price for the room.

Dining in the hotel restaurant in the evening was an enjoyable experience. The food was of a reasonably high standard, well presented and very good value for money. The wine, a Pouilly-Fuissé, was quite decent although perhaps slightly expensive. I would return to the hotel, although not if the weather was very warm.

Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast (didn't eat any other meals while there but restaurant was busy and the food smelt good). Solid wifi. Plenty of parking. Near to city centre. Would happily stay there again

Great hotel, all the basics done well. Spare towel hidden in the cupboard. Needs a wider range of crisps at the bar. Only Ready Salted at 80p a bag is a bit pricey.

Title says it all really - the Eaton is reasonably well located, being a 10 minute bus journey from the restaurants and bars of Brindley Place. The rooms are quite large and reasonably comfortable without being (or claiming to be) luxurious. That said, if you want luxury, you'd pay 4 or 5 times as much. The service was very friendly and breakfasts well above average. I'd stay here again and for the price would recommend it - it makes a refreshing change from the chain hotels.

We stayed here just before Christmas for a shopping weekend. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean, warm, modernised and comfortable. The bathroom looked like something out of a style magazine. The WiFi worked very well and the speed was reasonably high.

The breakfast was amazing and there was a variety of choice. The city centre was easy to reach - just a few stops away on the bus or a short 2 minute taxi away. There's also free parking available.

Would recommend as it's a quiet hotel away from all the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Didn't see any large groups or stag/hen parties there during our stay. Feels a bit more personal and warmer than the chain hotels.

Stayed at the Eaton Hotel for a girls weekend away in Birmingham and what a gem it is. Lovely reception area, very friendly staff. Couldn't have wanted a better room - large, spacious and modern with two double beds, plenty of storage, flat screen tv and lovely modern bathroom. Very nicely decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean and beds were wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, cereal and any combination of a full english you desire. Hotel is very centrally located and I would have no hesitation in recommending for business or leisure requirements.

We had a wonderful time at the Eaton Hotel last weekend. From checking in at reception to breakfast in the restaurant the staff were very friendly and efficient. Our room had been cleaned to the highest standard with everything at hand to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The location was perfect for a day in the City shopping extending into an evening of fun. I would highly recommend this hotel for city shoppers and business people alike and I shall look forward very much to our next visit.
