Everything you hope for in a Malmaison. Comfy, quiet, well appointed. Service was excellent when the first room had a couple of faults. Room service breakfast is a cut above the average.
The kind of hotel you have to share with someone to really enjoy it.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside view.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Malmaison. The room was excellent, couldn't fault it. However the service at bearkfast was awful. Approached the desk where a very friendly waitress took us to a table and asked us if we wanted tea of coffee and toast, in the middle of this another waitress swiped in and intereupted rudly "you wanted to follow me" and took us to another table. Its as if they were on commision ffor seating tables!!! Breakfast was really nice, had our cereal and then our hot breakfast was then bought out by a very miserabe waitress. Put our plates down and didn't even lift our cereal bowls and just walked away. Wasn't too impressed with this at all. Apart from this, the service in the bar was brilliant and couldn't fault anything else!!

Stayed twice in May, 1st visit staff reasonably helpful but didn't make you feel as if you were a valued customer, I hate fuss but a little bit more enthusiasm would be nice, 2nd time Spanish lady on reception much more welcoming.
Food was great in the evening but breakfast slow , Room nice comfortable but shame about the shower in the bath would expect better
I would definitely return though

This hotel is bang in the centre of Birmingham and the immediate impression is of a stylish and lively city centre option. The check in experience was friendly and I was impressed with the room. Typical Malmaison style and quality. The room looked into an inner courtyard which I think was a shopping centre so whilst in the middle of the city was actually very quiet. We drank in the bar which was reasonably priced and ate in the restuaurant which was average but convenient. However there seemed to be a problem with the plumbing which meant there was a lot of pipe noise in the night which prevented a good night's sleep. Overall however it was a good experience.

Stayed with a group of friends we couldn't fault it from arriving early and all rooms available, friendly staff and immaculate rooms.
The breakfast is particularly good with plenty of choice and all cooked to order.
Would have got an excellant rating except for lots of problems with the key cards and weak tea! I know its minor but thats all I could think of.

Went for a one night stay with my boyfriend, fantastic hotel. Has a lovely bar downstairs which got busy quick so is obviusly popular servving great cocktails. The room was large ( we had two double beds which was really unnecessary!) the bed comfortable, clean and the bathroom/shower very large. The view was of Birmingham so don't expect much! We didn't stay for breakfast but we did have room service which was very nice and the room had a very alrge widescreen TV. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed a great stay at Malmaison. Centrally located hotel, great interior, good ambiance. Lively late night bar. Wonderfully comfortable beds. One thing that struck me as strange was supplying each room (of 2) with only one towel between us. Usually we're afforded the luxury of a towel each. Equally unusual was the supply of a decent amount of conditioner but no shampoo. Not much of a deterrent though. Would definitely stay again.
