This is our third visit to Malmaison restaurant, unfortunately it will be the last. The selection from the chefs table is a nice touch but the wait for the main course was in excess of 30 minutes. There were four people dining and the fourth meal arrived after the first person had finished their main. The veg consisted of two very small trays, see pic ( very small portions ). This is totally unacceptable service. Other diners also appeared to be having difficulty. We witnessed one party greeting their soup after their mains arrived.

Management were keen to make excuses but there really isn't any excuse, overall a terrible experience.

I would recommend other places for Sunday lunch. A poor review all written in the time whilst waiting for food to arrive

I stayed here a couple of years ago, I throughly enjoyed my time here and the breakfast was good, a wide selection to choose from. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. I recommend this hotel and stay again.

Incorporated in the Mailbox Shopping Centre and directly under Harvey Nichols. Car park at the rear. Fab in the summer months as the rear of the complex is the Birmingham waterway. Very picturesque with loads of places to dine or relax with a drink.

This gorgeous hotel is luxurious, plush and seductive. Ideal for a special evening. Lovely complimentary toiletries. Food is pricey but good. Only downside to staying here is the high cost of parking.

Not really suitable for children.

Checkout/in is VERY slow.

I stayed at Malmaison Birmingham over valentines weekend after being suggested this hotel by a few friends. First impressions were good, reception was very clean and the dark theme throughout the hotel was very nice.

Unfortunately the staff were extremely poor and slow! Took me over 20 minutes to check in, and when I did, I was asked to pay an extra £50 as deposit! I regret not refusing to pay the £50 as there had been no mention of such a deposit prior to me arriving at the hotel. I have yet to receive my deposit back and will probably have to chase them up by making numerous phone calls which I am not looking forward to.

Highly over rated, and for the price you are paying, theres much better out there.

I used to love the stylish feel of the Malmaison but I just can't help feel that it is now very tired. The rooms appear to have had some work to them and the TV had been replaced with a flat screen but the general feeling is tired and due a big upgrade!

Stayed here for one night on a Saturday, and it was busy, we got a deal on a late booking site ( £120 for the night ), and it seemed so had everybody else. Lovely big room, well equipped and lively bar ( not cheap, but what hotel is ). Only used restaurant for breakfast, which was plentiful with a good choice. Staff were very helpful, but seemed to struggle with just how busy it was.

The only comment would be that the internal decor is looking a little tired and perhaps could do with an upgrade.

I like Malmaisonl but not at the full rate price, luckily there always seems to be a deal available.

We stayed here for one night in Birmingham, and were not dissapointed.

The room was big, with a large double bed and very clean bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bar upstairs was lovely serving a variety of drinks for reasonable prices.

It is also in a great location, overall a great place to stay.
