Having stayed in many hotels in Birmingham i would say this hotel is the best value . All the staff were fantastic and the night reception team were very helpful. Our evening meal and breakfast was great . The room was spacious and well designed , we will definaantly be returning in the future .

Beautiful hotel with generous rooms and a great quality of finish. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast has been one of the best I have had. Although this is located at a busy junction there was no traffic noise in the bedroom.

Loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again! We booked a suite and it was fab, sadly, the heating didn't work and we had to move! The replacement room wasn't as big as the first but still fab! Staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you. Lovely cocktails too :-)
Overall fab hotel!

Stayed here with friends for a weekend of shopping and going out for dinner. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice with comfy beds, good towels, nice toiletries in bathroom. Nice bar. The location is ideal for shops and station. We paid £99 for a twin room and I thought that was great value for the location and quality of hotel. I'd definitely recommend.

We visited for a weekend away just before Christmas at the Christmas markets. On the surface of reviewing the hotel online it looks like a nice hotel, however on arrival it's got a WOW factor in the funky modern way it's been decorated throughout. The staff are all friendly and polite and happy to help, for example if you arrive early they will take your bags, so you can wonder around the shops freely. When we went back to check-in, our room was high-tech in terms of sound and lights, my husband was thrilled with it and it is very smart in the way it's decorated, and still very comfortable. We also stayed for afternoon tea on the Sunday and can heartily recommend it; The food is fabulous, but very filling - a handy tip is they will let you take it home should you not be able to finish it and it would be a shame not to have the desserts! We had a great time and I would happily stay here again if I am visiting on a weekend away or on business.

We stayed at this hotel as we wanted a very modern, nice looking hotel which was close to the city centre.

We parked on Selfridges, after going in to the hotel and asking them where we could park, in which they said as their own car park was full to park here.Selfridges is less than a 5minute walk to the hotel.
We arrived at the hotel, and even though there was some sort of event going on at the hotel (bride and family being escorted to wedding), we were still greeted by every member of staff.
There are machines which you use to check in, but we did this with the help of a member of staff, who was very helpful indeed! And gave us all the information we needed.

Our room was on the second floor. We loved the whole new technology of the using the card to open the doors, control the lights etc. The bathroom was a shower with a large mirror so you can do your make up etc, but a very powerful quite relaxing big one at that! There was little shampoos and conditioner and body wash, so if you forget to take anything its fine! And a good amount of towels!

The bed was big and very comfy too. There was a mirror, a closet with coathangers, lots of beverage makers and even a safe so you knew your expensive goods could be protected.
The only fault would be that we couldn't get our mobile to connect to the TV in order to play our music but this wasn't a bad thing as much.

We went out on the night and the hotel arranged a cab for us which was great and came within 5 minutes. We got back and sat in the hotel bar in which the staff were lovely. The menu said the bar nibbles were available till late, but we were told they weren't available by half 11. We asked if we could order food from a local takeaway and the staff had no problem with this at all!

This was an amazing stay and definitely worth the money! Bit of a shame that baths are only available in the suites and superior rooms!

Going to stay again in the future! So thanks very much to the staff!

So the aim is clearly "Boutique" hotel and this has been pulled off nicely. As always in this part of the hotel trade there have to be some quirks to give the place "personality", and at La Tour some work and some don't. Like the subtle Alice in Wonderland references, don't like not having a person for check in and check out. Like the minimalist architecture, don't like the hoardings around the car park. 50% of the lifts out of order. Rather over the top room and stairwell card-security for what didn't seem to me to be a threatening or difficult neighbourhood.

We had an executive room for one night prior to a conference/event in the hotel the following day. The room size was decent, the TV and computer points modern and entirely suitable for business. No bath but a 2 person walk in floor level shower. Clean, tidy, everything in its place. Comfortable bed and pillows.

Breakfast was worth the money - good buffet selection of both traditional cooked English and continental style breads, cereals and so on. Attentive service. Perhaps the only bit missing for the truly "boutique" experience would have been to have had the cooked breakfast freshly cooked to order from "named source" ingredients - I guess that would have made the bill higher.

The bar in the evening was at the usual prices for a hotel. Quite a limited range of beers I thought. The sofas and setting were comfortable for a chat though.

(Lunch at the conference was rather good - not your usual curled up sandwich buffet, but freshly cooked three courses albeit 'serve-yourself')

Room Tip: Executive is worth the few pounds more.

Thank you for posting a review about your stay here at La Tour. I am glad in the main you enjoyed your experience with us but clearly we didn’t delight you as much as we would have hoped in some areas of the business. We are building a product for our customers today and with this we are very open to listening to our customers and learning about what they think will make us the number one venue in Birmingham so thank you for your feedback. Kind regards Jane Riley
